==General==

Ewin Finngar is a youth from the Two Rivers.

As a child Ewin is a small, annoying little boy. He is a little chunky, but not fat. After he grows up he gas a strong, deep voice that Perrin describes as being the "voice of a bull." He grew up into a "tall, lean-faced man with wide shoulders." (TEoTW, Ch. 2; TSR, Ch. 43). Rand, Perrin and Mat are 4 years older than him, but he is around the same age as Faile (TEoTW, Ch. 2; LoC, Prologue). He is excitable and loyal to Perrin and the Two Rivers but wants to have an adventure.

==Timeline==

*Ewin is just a little kid who wants to be friends with Mat, Rand and Perrin, but Mat takes a humor in this by tricking Ewin into believing that ghost hounds are haunting Emond's Field. He plays an important role because he notifies Mat and Rand of two strangers that came into Emond's Field. He believes that Moiraine is a Lady and Lan is in service to her. However, after talking to Moiraine and receiving a silver penny from her he makes the comment that Lan could be a warder (TEoTW, Ch. 2).

*Ewin is reunited with Perrin after his return to the Two Rivers. Perrin can hardly believe how much he has grown up. Ewin informs Perrin of how Lord Luc has been running things and explains how life has changed within the Two Rivers (TSR, Ch. 43).

*Ewin helps defend Emond's Field against the final Trolloc attack and wants to keep Perrin safe from the White Cloaks (TSR, Ch. 56).

*Faile is told by the women of Emond's Field that Ewin has run off with several other Two Rivers boys to see the world and have an adventure like Perrin had (LoC, Prologue).

==Relationships==

Ewin looks up to Perrin. He sees a man who has gotten away from the Two Rivers and lived in a world beyond dreams. Fighting Trollocs gave him a sense of what that might be like.

Although Ewin likes Mat, Mat still picks on him. Mat just sees him as a little kid. He is jealous of Mat and Rand because they are older and get to do more.

Ewin receives a silver penny from Moiraine and thinks that she and Lan are just wonderful. He also gets along with Alanna Sedai and Verin Sedai after they arrive in the Two Rivers.

Evon is the cook in Jorin and Amellia Arene's manor in Amador, Amadicia. He is fat and balding with piggy eyes (TFoH, Ch18).

Amellia treats Evon like a friend, which Liandrin cannot understand. He is afraid of Liandrin, since she berated him for looking at her too long; now he will not look at her for more than two seconds, as it seems (TFoH, Ch18).

He discusses meals with Amellia until Liandrin appears. He all but runs back into the kitchen at her sight (TFoH, Ch18).

After shielding Liandrin, Moghedien intends to give her to Evon as a scullery maid and has Temaile soften her for him (TFoH, Ch34).

He reports daily to Logain (WH, Prologue).

He tells Logain that there was a problem with the young Two Rivers men (WH, Prologue).

She is very concerned with her looks and clothing, so much so that Elaida often thinks she should have been Green (TFoH, Prologue).

Evanellein was one of the Aes Sedai who aided Elaida in deposing Siuan and in gaining the Amyrlin Seat (TFoH, Prologue).

Evanellein meets with Elaida and her other supporters to discuss what is going on in the world. She tells Elaida and the others that Amathera has vanished in Tarabon, and that an Aes Sedai may have been involved in the disappearance (TFoH, Prologue).

Erim's hair is bright red, though nearly half of it has turned white (TSR, Ch. 57). His eyes are green and as strong as any younger man's, he has big hands, wide and long and hard, strong arms and a pugnacious jaw. He is taller than Dhearic (TFoH, Ch. 2; LoC, Ch. 4).

*Rhuarc tells Rand that Erim is on his way to Alcair Dal (TSR, Ch. 49).

*Erim arrives at Alcair Dal. Along with the other clan chiefs, he looks disapproving upon learning that Couladin went to Rhuidean without the permission of the Wise Ones. He suggests that they go apart to talk in order to decide whether Rand or Couladin is the true Car'a'carn, and stands in stony silence with Bael, Jheran and Han when Rand reveals the secret of Rhuidean to the gathered Aiel. Rand thinks to himself that they know the truth, now, that he is the Car'a'carn. Erim, along with the others, proclaims him to be the Car'a'carn (TSR, Ch. 57).

*Erim stays to support Rand (TSR, Ch. 58)

*Erim is with Rand, Bael, Bruan, Han, Jheran and Rhuarc in Rhuidean. They discuss the other clan chiefs. Erim claims that Timolan, one of the chiefs who has not yet joined Rand, "does not let his feet know which way he will jump until after he has leaped". They also discuss Couladin and the Shaido, and the Aiel who have left their clans because of Rand's revelation at Alcair Dal. Before the clan chiefs leave the meeting, Rand tells them to bring in the rest of the clans and to keep an eye on the Shaido (TFoH, Ch. 2).

*Han tells Rand that the Reyn, Miagoma and Shiande clans are moving; Rhuarc adds that the Shaido are moving for Jangai Pass, though it is too early to tell if the other clans are moving to join with Couladin or not. Erim comments that if Couladin means to cross the Jangai Pass, they cannot catch him (TFoH, Ch. 6).

*After having left Rhuidean, Rand and the Aiel enter the nation of Cairhien (TFoH, Ch. 23).

*On the day of the battle against the Shaido, the clan chiefs meet with Rand once more for a few final words, to report that their men are in position and ready. Erim is wearing a slight smile and says that it is a good day to see the end of the Shaido (TFoH, Ch. 43).

*During the battle, an Aiel warrior named Seirin brings word to Rand from Han; the clans to the east are moving towards each other. Han means to join with Dhearic, and has sent to Erim to join them (TFoH, Ch. 44).

*Erim is now with Rand's army on the Plains of Maredo, along with Bruan, Dhearic, Han and Jheran (LoC, Ch. 4).

*Rand meets with his forces on the Plains of Maredo, which are made up of Aiel, Tairens and Cairhienin. They discuss Sammael. When Rand leaves after the meeting, the clan chiefs accompany him from the tent and speak some more. Erim asks Rand if the Tairens told him about the rebel Tairens (Darlin, Tedosian and Estanda), and Rand replies that they did. When Rand tells the clan chiefs that they are not to move against Sammael's Illianers until Mat arrives, Han says that they are wasting time, and Jheran and Erim agree (LoC, Ch. 4).

Elayne thinks to herself that their woolen clothes would have suited a prosperous farmer, and that their manor house is much like a large farmhouse, sprawling and housing generations. A third of their armsmen are their sons, grandsons, nephews and great nephews (KoD, Ch. 17).

==Timeline==

*Learning of the siege on Caemlyn, Brannin and Elvaine Martan ride to Elayne's support, bringing all the men they can; they leave behind only the young and the old to see to the planting at home. They do not turn back on learning the odds against Elayne (KoD, Ch. 17).

*On her way to the Map Room, Elayne stops to exchange pleasantries with Brannin and Elvaine. Elayne is in a hurry, and so walks on almost as soon as she stops; she hopes that they do not feel as if they are getting short shrift (KoD, Ch. 17).

She is present at the annual sheep shearing, making a bad job of folding fleece.

When Egwene tries to soothe her by comparing her to Cilia Cole, who is 20 and also has her hair unbraided, she is abashed and angrily sends Egwene away.

Elisa al'Seen is a woman from Emond's Field and is Jac al'Seen's wife. She has a lined, motherly face and graying hair and looks older than Verin.

She greets Perrin, Verin and the others when they come to the al'Seen farm to convince them to gather in Emond's Field. She welcomes Perrin to stay as long as he likes. She does not believe that Perrin, his family or the ones captured by the Whitecloaks are Darkfriends, whatever anyone says (TSR, Ch32).

She and Jac introduce "Lord Luc of Chiendelna" to their guests (TSR, Ch33).

Eldrin Cauthon is a girl from Emond's Field. Her parents are Abell and Natti Cauthon and her siblings are Mat and Bodewhin. Early in the summer of 999 NE, she is sixteen, about two years younger than Egwene. She is plumply pretty, wears her hair in a braid and has a grin similar to her sister's (EotW, Ravens; TSR, Ch45).

==Timeline==

*Eldrin, her mother and sister are present at the annual Shearing when Egwene is nine (EotW, Ravens).

*Eldrin, Natti and Bodewhin, as well as Alsbet and Haral Luhhan, are taken prisoner by the Whitecloaks and hauled off to their camp right under Watch Hill. Bran tells Perrin that they have not been harmed so far (TSR, Ch29). Perrin decides to free them, since he promised Mat he would look after his sisters (TSR, Ch30; TSR, Ch31).

*The prisoners are rescued by Perrin and the others. On their way out, her mother whispers calmative words to Eldrin and Bode (TSR, Ch33).

*She and her sister feed Aram before he picks up the sword and leaves the Way of the Leaf (TSR, Ch45).

*She is one of the five Elders given the task of shielding Ispan, because they are not Wise Women (ACoS, Ch39).

*On their way to the farm, the Kinswomen and Aes Sedai take turns shielding Ispan, all the while trying to talk Elayne into releasing the Kin of the task and questioning her while it is still possible (TPoD, Ch1; TPoD, Ch2; TPoD, Ch3).

*She and Famelle hold Ispan's shield when they Travel to the farm (TPoD, Ch2).

She is gray-braided and slender, and is the oldest of the Two Rivers Wisdoms. She makes it plain with her straight back and stiff face that she thinks she should have Daise's place as the "leader" of the Wisdoms, by virtue of her age and her long time in office (LoC, Prologue).

Faile thinks to herself that the one advantage she has over the Wisdoms is that they know the effect that Perrin has on them; they are always self conscious around him and try to make themselves firm, but their resolutions always fly out the window at the sight of him. The Wisdoms don't seem to be sure whether to prefer to deal with Perrin or Faile (LoC, Prologue).

*After Faile brings the men of Watch Hill to the rescue of Emond's Field, she tells Perrin that the Women's Circle of Watch Hill will be sending a delegation to Perrin, and that Edelle will be bringing him some of her dried-apple tarts (TSR, Ch. 56).

(TPoD, Ch. 28) When minor nobles proclaimed for her in Aringill Dyelin had two of them hung for treason against Elayne and others flogged. When news that Colavaere had been crowned reached Andor Lady Naean and Lady Elenia both tried to claim the throne but Dyelin had them arrested for treason. She was then named Regent until Elayne returned to claim the throne. (ACoS, Ch. 7) When Elayne arrived in Caemlyn Dyelin was the first to greet her and she told Elayne of her support. Doral had white hair. Despite her frailness, she was clear-eyed and not stooped at all (TEoTW, Ravens).

Nynaeve became her apprentice at the age of fourteen. Many people thought that Doral should have sent Nynaeve off to live with her relatives in the country when she became an orphan, and that she should have taken on an apprentice older than Nynaeve (TEoTW, Ravens). Her first apprentice died because she could not control her ability to channel (TEoTW, Ravens; TEoTW, Ch. 21).

*Doral watches Nynaeve like a hawk while Nynaeve bandages Bili Congar's leg at the annual sheep shearing. When Nynaeve is done, Doral unwraps the bandage to peer at Bili's leg, and seems disappointed as she looks at his wound. Perhaps she had been hoping Nynaeve had Healed it (TEoTW, Ravens).

==General==

Chiad is an Aiel woman of the Stones River sept of the Goshien Aiel. She is also a Maiden of the Spear. Chiad has reddish-blonde hair, gray eyes, and is shorter than her first-sister, Bain (TDR Ch. 38). Her hair is blonder than Bain's flame-colored hair (TSR Ch. 3). Like most Aiel, she is wary of water. Egwene observed Chiad and Bain as they were retrieving water for Nynaeve to use to heal a dying Maiden, Dailin, and she thought they expected the river to reach up and grab them (TDR Ch. 38).

Chiad was among a group of Maidens that crossed over the Dragonwall in search of He Who Comes With the Dawn (TDR Ch. 39). She later stood guard outside Rand's chambers in the Stone of Tear as one of the six Maidens to do so (TSR Ch. 3). When Perrin set out for the Two Rivers from Tear, Chiad accompanied Faile in order to see more of her lands (TSR Ch. 18). Eventually, through her continued travels with Faile, she is taken gai'shain by the Shaido in Amadicia and does not attempt escape because of ji'e'toh (CoT Ch. 9).

==Timeline==

*Chiad is a member of one of the last groups of Aiel sent out by the Wise Ones to cross beyond the Dragonwall and out of the Three-fold Land in search of He Who Comes With the Dawn (TDR Ch. 39).

*Soldiers thought the group of Maidens Chiad was with were bandits and attacked them, injuring a Maiden named Dailin and nearly killing her (TDR Ch. 38).

*Chiad met Nynaeve, Elayne, and Egwene after Aviendha asked them to aid Dailin (TDR Ch. 38).

*Chiad helps rescue Nynaeve, Elayne, and Egwene from brigands and Fades (TDR Ch. 39).

*Mat meets Chiad and Bain in the Stone of Tear, but cannot talk to one without the other (TDR Ch. 56).

*Chiad and Bain become friends with Faile (TSR Ch. 2).

*Chiad and Bain help Arrela and Lacile escape, however, they do not try themselves because of ji'e'toh (CoT Ch. 9).

==Relationships==

Chiad is first-sister to Bain of the Shaarad Aiel. The Shaarad Aiel and Goshien Aiel held a blood feud for over a hundred years and though they both wedded the Spear and became Maidens, they felt that the wedding pledge was not enough. They each went to the Wise Ones of their clans and asked to bond as first-sisters (TDR Ch. 38).

Chiad is friends with Faile and accompanies her when she travels.

Gaul of the Shaarad Aiel wants Chiad to marry him, but as it is in the Aiel tradition, he must wait for her to ask him. Faile tells Perrin that Chiad is willing to be Gaul's lover, but does not want to give up the spear and marry (LoC Ch. 45).

==Miscellaneous==

*When Perrin was going to see Rand in his chambers in Tear, Chiad and Bain would not allow him to enter. Chiad put her spear right on Perrin's neck and at one point was a breath away from cutting open his skin (TSR Ch. 3).

*Chiad and Bain tended to Gaul's injured leg when he and Loial returned from closing a Waygate in the Two Rivers and after having been chased by fifty Trollocs and a Myddraal (TSR Ch. 53).

*Chiad fought alongside and back-to-back with Gaul against the attacking Trollocs. Afterwards, as people were streaming out of Emond's Field, she walked hand in hand with Gaul (TSR Ch. 56).

"He will lead us out of the Three-Fold Land," Chiad added. "The prophecies say he was born of Far Dareis Mai." (Chiad referring to Rand, TDR Chapter 39).

"Bain says they wish to see more of your lands, but I think it is the argument between you and Faile which fascinates them. They like her, and when they heard of this journey, they decided to go with her instead of you." (Gaul talking about Bain's and Chiad's accompaniment in Faile and Perrin's journeys, TSR Chapter 18).

*A month before the Horn is stolen, he fought at Tarwin's Gap and saved Lord Agelmar from Trollocs after his horse went down (TGH, Ch9).

*When Egwene and Rand went to the dungeons where Padan Fain was held, Changu was on guard with Nidao (TGH, Ch3).

*He disappeared when Fain left, which is later discovered when the people in the keep are counted (TGH, Ch9).

*He was hung up on a stoneoak not far away from the River Erinin and skinned alive by the Trollocs that left with Fain. When Rand and the group that was to retrieve the Horn of Valere saw him and Nidao, they took them down and buried them (TGH, Ch10).

*Changu told jokes the first time Egwene saw him, but he grew meaner and more sullen every time she came to the dungeons (TGH, Ch3). This is the effect Fain has on the people around him.

*After Fain escaped from the dungeons, Rand was relieved that he does not recognize the guards who had been on duty then. It would have made it worse for him had he known them, even had they been Changu and Nidao. (TGH, Ch6)

*He always stayed together with Nidao, no matter if they had to trade their watch or do extra duty (TGH, Ch9).

Chanelle din Seran White Shark is a Sea Folk Windfinder. She is lean with an angular face. She is a woman of honor, carrying almost as many golden medallions on her chain as Zaida (CoT, Ch12). She has big, hard eyes and full lips (KoD, Ch14).

According to Zaida's bargain, Chanelle is the leader of the Windfinders left in the Royal Palace, yet under the authority of Elayne and Birgitte (CoT, Ch12).

==Timeline==

*She is one of the twenty Windfinders to accompany Nynaeve and Lan to the Tarasin Palace as agreed to in the Bargain with the Mistress of the Ships (ACoS, Ch37). On Renaile's agreement the Windfinders accompany Elayne and Nynaeve wherever they will go to activate the Bowl of the Winds (ACoS, Ch39).

*Among the group of Windfinders, she rides through Aviendha's gateway from the Tarasin Palace to the Kin's farm (TPoD, Ch1; TPoD, Ch3), where they arrive already so bruised from riding so that Nynaeve Heals them (TPoD, Ch4). When the Seanchan attack the farm (TPoD, Ch6), she Travels with the others to Andor, riding toward Caemlyn (TPoD, Ch20) and eventually arrives at the Royal Palace (TPoD, Ch28).

*After learning of Nesta's death, the Sea Folk in the Royal Palace want to go to Illian immediately to elect a new Mistress of the Ships. Zaida bargains with Elayne and ends up leaving nine Windfinders behind under Chanelle's command (CoT, Ch12).

*She confronts Elayne, who is on her way to her rooms, and inquires again after Talaan and Merilille (KoD, Ch14).

*After Elayne is captured, Birgitte demands a gateway big enough for a thousand soldiers of Chanelle and the Windfinders. She grudgingly agrees and although she said the Windfinders would take no part in the battle, she attacks the Black Ajah in the end, seeing how easily they are destroying the army (KoD, Ch32).

*When Elayne hears that Arymilla broke through Far Madding gate and Dyelin is holding her off, Elayne decides to strike at the back. Chanelle at first does not want to provide a gateway to the intended sight, but after she is assured the Windfinders do not have to take part in this battle, she opens it (KoD, Ch33).

==Relationships==

With Nesta's death, Renaile din Calon is reduced to being Chanelle's secretary. Chanelle is quite pleased to witness Renaile's fall (KoD, Ch14).

Although she is under Elayne's authority, she still lets her temper flare, since she is accustomed to wielding power. Sometimes she and Elayne have shouting matches and more than once feel to desire to strike the other woman.

She fears to return to Zaida with the bargain yet unfulfilled (KoD, Ch17; KoD, Ch32).

Cal is a young footman in the Aesdaishar Palace in Chachin, Kandor. He serves the Lady Ines Demain, one of the possible mothers of the Dragon Reborn. He is a source of information for Moiraine and Siuan on Ines. Siuan, dressed as a maid named "Suki", spends a lot of time with him (NS, Ch. 24; NS, Ch. 25).

Cal is very pretty. Siuan describes him to have pretty brown eyes and a gentle manner (NS, Ch. 25).

==Timeline==

*Disguised as a maid, Siuan goes to meet with Cal to find out information on Ines Demain (NS, Ch. 24).

*Siuan learns nothing from Cal, with the exception that he is a good kisser (NS, Ch. 25).

*Siuan spends more time with Cal and manages to bring Rahien Demain up in casual conversation. Although he wasn't with Ines when Rahien was born, he knows when the birth took place (NS, Ch. 25).
