The Keeper did a hunting go
And her fringed shawl tied up in a bow
To find where A novice did go
Among the leaves so green-o.
Accepted, hoy(Keeper?)
Sing ye well (Very well)
Come round(Go round)
Derry derry down
Noices Have you seen O
To go, hey, round round (To go ho round round )
Hey Round (Ho Round)
Seaching all around
Among the leaves so green-o
The first child, she did cross the plain,
The Keeper fetched her back again.
Where she is now, she sits with pain,
Far from the leaves so green O
CHORUS
The next one she did cross the brook.
The Keeper fetched her back with a hook.
She is scrubbing now, you may go and look
Far from the leaves so green-o.
CHORUS
The Keeper did a hunting go.
In the woods she caught then all, o.
They look so sad but they again never go.
Among the leaves so green-o.
