One day with the Gaidin
I saw a new man.
He sparred in the practice
As the best of them can.

I wanted to bond him,
I wanted his pledge,
But the courage to ask him
I never could dredge.

Valdir was a Warder

He bonded my Sister,
He bonded a Green.
They capered together
Like you never have seen.

Valdir was a Warder

One day at the tavern
He drunk as a lord
Without the Sister who'd bonded him.
His drinking had soared.

He kissed all the barmaids,
But when he faced off a Red,
He kissed her so thoroughly
That I knew he was dead.

She hissed and she howled,
She turned as pale as a fish.
Then she raised her two arms
And turned him into a radish.
