Rand sulks in his room without seeing anyone. Min visits, telling him she had to beg to be allowed to see him. He apologizes for forcing himself on her and tells her he would hang himself if the world could afford to lose him. She is annoyed, as she was just as involved as he was. She explains that they were both upset and that friends comfort each other sometimes. He tells her he will have to send her away because he loves her. He also tells her he loves [[Elayne]] and [[Aviendha]]. She tells him all three love him. She tells him of a viewing she had, of him and another man merging and one of them dying. He takes this viewing as evidence that the voice of [[Lews Therin]] in his head is real and not due to madness as [[Cadsuane]] had made him think. They decide to see the [[Sea Folk]] after he takes a bath.
