How ever it is the strong-hold of The Children of The Light who in themselves are a force to be reckoned with. King Ailron is a fairly weak king who it has been rumoured leaves all the major decisions to The Children, leaving plenty of time to attend to the ceremonial duties.

| − | Thieves are treated very harshly in Amadicia. They are branded at first offence, lose their right hand for a second offense and finally executed for a third (by hanging) regardless of the value of the items stolen.

| − | Aes Sedai, Channelers and women who have trained at The White Tower are outlawed in Amadicia. Any who are found are turned over to the Army and/or The Children of The Light. The fear of being branded a witch is so great that there is no word for Wisdom and women who practice the healing arts do so very carefully. Male hedge doctors are much more common.

| − | Amadicians seem to be dark-haired with the women favouring long curls to their shoulders and deep bonnets with velvet bows and matching bows on their dresses. Men wear long coats to their knees. The enjoy eating salted ham and peppered beef. They also love spicy muffins, pears, blue grapes and strawberries. The Nobility ship ice and snow from the Mountains of Mist to cool their drinks and food.

While the Hand of The Light is a non-military branch of the the Children whose Inquisitors are dedicated to unmasking Darkfriends and bringing people to the Light (whether they have strayed or not).

| − | The Children are situated in the Fortress of Light and was founded in Amador in FY 1021 (during the War of the Hundred Years) but they do not owe allegiance to any country. The Lord Captain Commander officiates the Council of The Anointed which is made up of a dozen of the highest-ranking Lord Captains as well as The High Inquisitor (The leader of The Hand). They originated as a group of peace loving preachers protesting against a rise in Darkfriends but within 100 they became the organisation we know of today.
