Assid Bakuun is a commander in the Seanchan army. He has served in it for thirty years and helped to quell the rebellion in Marendalar. Bakuun was proud to be chosen as one of the Forerunners.

Bakuun and his soldiers set up camp in Altara just before Rand's army attacked. When he learnt that part of that army was near, Bakuun ordered his troops to strike camp so that they could move up into the hills for protection. He also sent for reinforcements.

Bakuun does not like the morat'raken; he thinks that they show off.

Bakuun does not like damane and thinks that talking to one of them is the same as talking to a dog.

His First Lieutenant is called Tiras.
