General

Beidomon was a male Aes Sedai during the Age of Legends and a researcher at the Collam Daan (Robert Jordan's World of "The Wheel of Time"; TSR, Ch. 26; Tor Website, Robert Jordan Q&A).

Together with Mierin Eronaile (later now known as Lanfear) and a researching group, he discovered a thin place in the Pattern. They believed to have found a source of power that resembled the One Power, but could be used by both male and female without the restrictions of saidar and saidin.

To be able to tap into that source, they drilled a hole through the Pattern - and unexpectedly into the Dark One's prison (Robert Jordan's World of "The Wheel of Time"; TSR, Ch. 26).

He and the research group were blamed for the damage the drilling caused. He was reviled and sought obscurity, yet it was impossible to find, for everyone knew his name and in the end he committed suicide (Tor Website, Robert Jordan Q&A).
