Who am I

Hi there, I'm Tara.. but I answer just as quickly to Cin, since it's been my RL nickname since I was 5 yrs old. I'm in my 40's but don't let that fool you.. I might be required to grow older, but no one ever said I had to grow up.

I've been a Security Guard the last 10 yrs or so, and I love the work. Funny too, because I only got into it because I needed a job. My fav security job is working in a shopping mall.. love seeing all the different people, and it's always an adventure.. too bad there isn't one near where I'm living now.

Speaking of, I live in Clanton, AL.. which IMO has to be the most boring place on earth. I'm in a long-term relationship with a man who drives me to distraction, but I'd have a hard time giving him up. His name is Dave, and we've been together thru 8 years, 3 moves, 5 jobs and 6 cars.

I've never wanted kids (Dave has an adult son in the Army), but I LOVE cats. I currently have 3 (pics), but I've had as many as 10 at the same time.. and who knows how many over the years. I like most other animals too.. dogs, horses, ferrets, snakes, rats, gerbils, mice, hamsters, fish, lizards.. but I'm scared of bugs and birds.

As a Brown Aes Sedai, I'd have to say I'm almost the stereotypical book Brown. Reading and learning are two of my primary passions in life.. not to mention that I'm also a trivia geek in more than one fandom. I'll read practically anything that grabs my attention; fantasy, sci fi, history, military stories, spy stuff and anything about animals. My most 'out there' topic is Egyptology.. I'm completely fascinated with ancient Egyptian tombs, legends and heiroglyphics.

I also love organizing data.. I make lists just to get thru my days. I'd never get anything done otherwise, because I'd get sidetracked every time something caught my interest. I'll research anything too.. because 'not knowing' something drives me crazy, and I'll search and search until I find what I'm looking for.

Being the type of person I am, Brown was my most likely choice from the beginning, but it was the other Brown sisters that made my mind up. I don't think I've ever met a nicer, friendlier, sillier and downright wonderful bunch. They are there for you when you need a hug or advice or just someone to talk to, but they are never demanding, don't invade your personal space, and never ask for more than you are willing to give. And when you are ready to celebrate something, expect a real blow out of a party.. all that easy going, laid back style, evolves into a group of party animals just waiting for an excuse to let loose.

I love being Brown, and I love my Brown sisters.

Nothing else felt right, but Brown fit me like a glove. Not to mention that the other Brown sisters made me feel at home.

Yep, twice.. Dragon*Con 07 & 08. Meeting the folk I chat with daily was awesome. EVERYONE should attend at least one Dragon*Con.. not just for the Tower party, but because it's such an adventure.

Old fashioned Heavy Metal from the 70s & 80s
