After Saminda Meltacia stepped down as New Member Services Co-ordinator it was decided, due to TarValon.Net's ever increasing size, that a Welcome Committee would replace the role.

The Welcome Committee reports directly to the Mayor and is a Staff position under the Department of Membership. It is a rotating position, with the rotation period officially being every 6 months. It is open to members of any rank.

The duties of the committee include welcoming new members, answering questions new members may have about the community, including on Tower Bylaws or Member Manuals, and moderating the Introductions forum.
