Overview

The Company Commander is the membership administrator for all Gaidin of their Company. They watch over the Company, guide them, deal with administrative issues with them, keep track of them, and settle any disputes while encouraging them to remain active and involved in the Community at large. They also facilitate the guesting experience of all Soldiers and Accepted, both those guesting as well as those who have chosen to aspire to the Company. The Company Commander is also the person responsible for deciding when a Soldier or Accepted is ready for raising to become a full member of the Company.

Department: Department of Membership

Position Level: Administrator

Rotation: 18 month rotation

Merit Eligibility: Administrator Merit

Chain of Command

Company Commanders report to the Director of Membership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the guesting experience of all Soldiers, both those visiting as well as those who have chosen to aspire to the Company.
  • Decide when a Soldier is ready for raising to become a full member of the Company.
  • Complete quarterly reports for the Director of Membership concerning his Company.
  • Maintain contact information for the members of the Company.
  • Update the Who's Who for members of the Company as needed.
  • Selecting in-Company positions such as Honor Guard and helping to select Councilors for the Hall.
  • Any duties related to the Company not specifically listed.

Expectations

  • Must be organized, active, and have strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Must be extremely knowledgeable about our Bylaws, the Membership Manual, the administrative structure, and how our Community operates.

Time Commitment

  • Must be able to dedicate at least 10-15 hours per week to the position though this number could be far more (sometimes less) depending on the week.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Gaidin of at least 6 months standing within his Company.
