This was my first Con ever. I drove all day to get down there and stood in line 3 hours to get my badge and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We had fun competing against other sites and proving once and for all that cheaters don't always win. I got to see just exactly how to cram seven people into a double occupancy room, learned the best way to authenticate a kilt, and meet Narg the gay rights trolloc. The best part of the weekend was getting to know people from other sites as well as spending more time with those I already knew.

This year topped last years fun. It began with a gathering of WoT fans at the Steak and Ale with Dragonmount and TarValon.net members in attendance. Fun was had by all, good food, good company, even a visit from a couple plain old WoT fans. Then the fun started with the Welcoming by Kathana and Sergurant of DM and a multitude of events throughout the weekend. A WoT trivia contest, wOOt I got second place in my round :), sharades, and even a scavenger hunt. There was a wonderful night at the Winespring Inn, where TarValon.net members bussled around the con room, under the watchful eye of our Amyrlin, Eleyan al'Landerin, recreating a Inn room and creating a mantle and fireplace, lights, tables, and a dance floor. During the night there were saldaean games, the sa'sara was danced, and taught to visitors, items were auctioned off, oddly enough an Aiel from Two Rocks hold won the heron marked blade hehe, and much drink and food was consumed. Baring death and severe illness all TarValn.net members were involved in the costume parade on Saturday, luckily none were so we all had fun walking in beautiful downtown Atlanta and we managed to bring Logain (Micah) to Tar Valon (Hyatt). During Saturdays after con festivities, we all witnessed a sword spar between to of our Val'Cueran members Valorian and Drimylos, with a wandering SCA member, and even a newly minted Aes Sedia of the White Ajah joined in for some swordplay. Also along with Amara Sedai gaining the shawl, her friend Penryn had her name written in the novice book my the Amyrlin while being watched over by all attending members. Then Monday came far to quickly and we all said our good byes, some got in thier cars and drove off, some took the subway and others grabed a cab to the airport. Many hugs were had and tears shed, and also promises to return next year to do it all over again. I'll expect to see everyone there, cause I know I'll be there :D

D*C 2003 was my second enjoyable Atlanta experience.
