Site Review by Tyla al'Mere

The Atha'an Miere

Started in September 2003, this community was the brain-child of Calea din Erai Black Coral, the Mistress of the Ships. Calea Black Coral began working on the website about one hour after first thinking of creating a Sea folk community. A few weeks before the official founding of the community she began gathering people for the leadership of the site. At the time of the interview, the community had approximately eighteen members. A member of a web ring with communities such as Salidar and Road to Rhuidean, Calea Black Coral feels that membership has increased thanks to being affiliated with these communities. At this time the community holds no real life events although she has not ruled out the possibility of events planned in the future. This Sea Folk community is making for some highly entertaining role playing with the other communities of the web ring.

Release of New Boards by Adriana al'Tere

After the announcement that there would be a new site released, many TarValon.net members waited impatiently for the update. As Moriendar, a Citizen of Tar Valon, posted, "I'm sure everyone was dying to see the new and improved site!" We were given a final date, January 26, and the site was released as promised. Judging from the comments made about it, it has exceeded expectations. Moriendar continues, "It looks gorgeous!"

While some members are a bit confused and lost, most believe navigation is greatly improved. The message boards are on the website, and, as Mother says, we won't forget that we have a website anymore. She also believes it will help in directing new members to important information like tower law, the membership application, and FAQ. Dinn da Noor, a Soldier of Dai M'Hael, says, "No more 'we have a news section?' anymore." The news section is now accessible from the message boards, requiring a browser only to scroll up.

If you haven't visited lately, TarValon.net invites you to check out our new site. You will find it user friendly and beautiful. Yenie Antagar of the Red Ajah says, "I find myself just sitting and staring and drooling at it all the time!" Hopefully the beauty of the new site will not induce you to forsake work, school, or family, but will invite you to come and visit or even stay.
