Overview

The Headmaster/Headmistress is an Administrator in the Department of Research and Records. They supervise and assist in all dealings in the Classroom; they also act as a moderator for the forum.

Rotation: 18 month rotation

Chain of Command

The Headmaster/Headmistress reports directly to the Director of Research and Records.

Teachers all report directly to the Headmaster/Headmistress.

Duties and Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the Headmaster/Headmistress is organizing and keeping track of all classes and discussions in the Classroom forum.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeps a detailed list of all classes and discussions currently running in the Classroom.
  • Assigns classes and/or discussions to members to teach as requested.
  • Assists with the development of classes, with regards to both topics and structure, when requested.
  • Ensures that Wheel of Time trivia covered in the Classroom is factually correct.
  • Maintains good morale in the Classroom with teacher/student recognition.
  • Responsible for periodically sending a report to the Director outlining the classroom activity and progression of classes.
  • Maintaining the Classroom related pages in the TarValon.Net Library, including archiving old completed classes.

Expectations

  • Must be a member in good standing.
  • Must know Wiki formatting or be willing to learn.
  • Be ready to spend at least the first couple of weeks in an onboarding process by the Director or the outgoing Headteacher.

Time Commitment

  • Must be willing to spend a minimum of four hours a week at this position.

Qualifications

  • As this position specifically oversees Tower Initiates, a Tower Sworn is preferred, though not compulsory.
  • Familiarity with the site Library is preferable.

History

This position was known as "Classroom Assistant" prior to October 2007. It was changed from a Staff position to an Administrator position in April 2012.

In March of 2021 the position transitioned to a 18 month rotation.
