Why did you choose Green?

I think people hate these kinds of questions because a: they get asked it a lot and b: they either can't answer it well or they have way too much to say. The nice thing about being asked it though is that I can go and find an answer previously written and paste it! Yay for the internet! I am Green because I'm a passionate woman, fiercely protective of my family, who is herself despite what other people may think or say. I am Green whether anyone thinks so or not (someone told me soon after I Aspired that I should've gone Blue or Grey or White). While I pride myself on trying my best to be open and honest about myself and to have an open mind, there is only so far someone's advice/comments will go. When I've made up my mind, it's usually quite hard to change it (thus my policy of open mindedness). I'm sure if Green sisters had come to me and tried to explain why they didn't think I was Green, I would listen. However, I know what is in my heart, what is the core of me...I know who I am. And if I aspired and never got raised then I would have been fine with that because I belong no where else. Did I mention I can be quite stubborn? :look

I believe in living life how I see fit. I've heard little whispers behind my back (mostly by family and people at work) about how I date online or how I'm online all the time/have internet friends/etc. But honestly, I don't give a frak :P I do what makes me happy and what I'm comfortable with. I choose my beliefs and alter them when I want. I love men and I love women, I love music and travel, I love dreaming and reading and writing. I love a thousand different tv shows and movies. I LOVE. And I'm constantly growing and changing. But as I see things now (who am I to predict the future, some AS have stepped down that I would have never imagined...) I was Green, I am Green, and I will be Green.

Are you like the Greens in the books? Do you like to have fun with men? Are you a fierce warrior?

Isn't this like 3 questions in 1? Haha. It's been awhile since I've read the books so I'm not sure if I'm like any of the Greens. I do remember really disliking some though and I'm not sure if it's one of those, "You find what's annoying in others to be something you do" kind of things or if I just wanted to slap some sense into them. Cadsuane makes me want to punch her even when she's right. Wow, I'm coming off violent. To clarify I've never punched anyone in my life, I'd probably hurt myself more than I'd hurt her. I guess that answers the fierce warrior question eh? I find my biggest battles are not physical ones whatsoever. They are mental and emotional battles. I often battle depression, anger and irrational annoyance with other people. I also battle anxiety (sometimes normal and sometimes from out of the blue with NO reason behind it), most especially when I feel I have to believe in/stand up for myself or what I'm thinking and that can sometimes get me into trouble. When I do so I avoid the thread or discussion for awhile to settle my anxiety a bit, most times it's unfounded. As for fun with men, now that is a naughty sounding question! Yes, no, maybe so. I love chatting with guys online or hanging out with geeky guys in person. I used to flirt a lot, a lot though that's tamed down for awhile now. But groups of men in say a club? Skeevy. It's just uncomfortable to be around a big group of guys who are trolling for a woman to have sex with. It's cool if you're into it but it's not for me. I love having Warders in the Ajah though and I hope someday I'll bond so don't take any of this the wrong way!

Do you have a favorite Green Ajah character from the novels?

Egwene al'Vere. I actually started off really disliking Egwene. I didn't like her attitude to the boys, her bossiness and her whininess. But actually that's part of why I really love her character. She has such amazing growth over the course of the books from a bossy child to a strong, powerful women who deserves to be Amyrlin. Her strength, determination and stubborness are exactly what I'd expect of not only a book Green, but a site Green.

How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?

I read it a bit when I was 11 or so but never pushed pas the 3rd book. I really started reading it again when I joined tv.net and basically had to read it in order to advance. I knew I loved some of the worldbuilding but I love the series now especially the books that Brandon has co-authored. I can't wait for the last one!

How did you first get into the series?

My parents read it and I read everything on their bookshelf that was fantasy.

Who is your favorite "hero"?

Verin is pretty awesome and is a close second after that amazing chapter in The Gathering Storm but my favorite is definitely Egwene. You can see my answer about my fav Green Sedai above for reasons why. She's also kick-ass.

Favorite bad guy/gal?

Err, I don't really have favorite bad characters. I suppose if you wanted to count the Aiel who rebelled as bad and the Aiel who were clanless within them, than my favorite would be Rolan. He is a minor character who Perrin murdered just as he was rescueing Perrin's annoying wife Fail, err, Faile. She didn't even seem to care. GRRRRRR I could hurt them! :|

Favorite book and scene?

The Gathering Storm and Chapter 39.

If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as? An Aes Sedai? Innkeeper? Seanchan Captain?

Probably a Saldaean Green Sedai.

How did you find TarValon.Net and what convinced you to stay and become a Senior Member?

Until I turned 18 I didn't do much online other than check email. I played a lot of computer games but I didn't really understand that there could be fun things to do online. This makes me sound like I'm from the Dark Ages but I read a lot instead and played video games. When I graduated my brother told me about a website he'd found, The Dark Jedi Brotherhood (can you insert a hyperlink here too?). We had grown up big fans of Star Wars because of our Dad and watched the movies at least once a year. When I was still pretty new to the DJB one of the other members, one of the few women, as helping me find artwork for an avatar and told me I couldn't use a specific one. I asked why and she pointed out she used it here at Tv.net. I checked out the site and joined up but for some reason, probably because I was way more involved at the DJB to have time for it, I promptly forgot about tv.net. I don't even remember what nick I used at the time. A year later I got an email from tv.net. It was Mother emailing out one of those Year in Review things I forget the name of so I returned and signed up and this time...I stayed. There were two things that really kept me. First, chat was awesome. I was on chat every day and I talked a bunch. As for the second? I joined in October of 2006 that second time and decided to go to Anni the next year. So a few months later after bidding my family farewell and assuring them I wouldn't be ax-murdered I traveled to Colorado to meet my online friends in person. Contrary to chat, I was very quiet in person and I remember blushing hard when Mother pointed out that I was a newbie. I think the easy part is wanting to stay and find your community group and get raised to Senior Member. The hard part is staying at the site when you don't have much more to strive for. But I will always, always attend live events. See you next Anni! (I"ve been to every Anni party since I joined :D)

What do you do in "real life"?

I work overnights stocking soft lines (clothes), grocery, and infants at one of my local Walmarts. I really like it actually even when I'm stressed out. Course doesn't stop me from contemplating calling in now and again!

Do you have any hobbies?

I write reviews for a speculative fiction website, The Ranting Dragon, and I've been considering learning to knit again. Mostly I like to play games like WoW or Swords and Potions and my passion/hobby of the moment changes every couple months.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?

I like to listen to a variety. Mostly I'm in to one genre of music for awhile, say a year or so and then I really get into another genre. It doens't mean I stop listening to the other music I like but I seek out the genre of the moment. Previously it's been Christian, Country, Metal and Classical. At the moment I really like the popular club-type music you find on the radio. Favorite song of the moment is LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" . I love the video too!

What are some of your favorite movies / television shows?

Oh gosh, I'm going to have to narrow it down. I'll try and go for ultimate favorites. TV Shows: Battlestar Galactica, the various Stargates, the various Star Treks, Alias, Firefly, Glee, True Blood, Game of Thrones and Criminal Minds. Movies: The Original Star Wars, the new Star Trek, the LotR trilogy, the latter Harry Potter films, House of Flying Daggers, lots of Disney animated musicals and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Aside from The Wheel of Time, what are a few of your favorite books/series?

Ender's Game, the Mistborn Trilogy, The Name of the Wind, Locke Lamora, God's War by Kameron Hurley (a not very well known science fiction novel), the Harry Potter series, the Codex Alera series, the Kushiel's series, the Mercedes Lacky series, Old Man's War, the Sevenwaters series, etc etc etc.

What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?

I didn't really have one until I was 10 or so, at least as far as I can remember. The first profession I wanted when I was a kid was to be an overseas missionary. Sometimes I still feel like a kid but I have no idea what I want to do. I would love to be a published author someday though.
