Yep, I said it! You can make your own barbecue sauce! It's easy, it's fast, it's flavorful, and it is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the bottled stuff! Try it today! This recipe comes courtesy of the "Fix It & Forget It Big Cookbook" by Phyllis Pellman Good.

No More Bottled Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

Your ingredients

1 cup finely chopped onions
1/4 cup oil
6 oz. can tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed juice is best)
3 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
2 TBSP prepared mustard
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

1. Combine ingredients in slow cooker.
2. Cover. Cook on low 3 hours.
3. Use on hamburgers, sausage, pork chops, ribs, steaks, chicken, turkey or fish.

Your final product on some yummy food!

Tip: Sauce will keep in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
