Poem of the Month by Kyla Sterling
The people involved in this poem show tremendous range! Participants were Aes Sedai, Gaidin, Novices, Accepted, Soldiers, Recruits, Citizens, and the Amyrlin Seat. Some participants were founding members of the site, others had barely joined and yet jumped right into this poetry game. I attempted to interview all those who were involved, and the answers of the people who answered my call are found below the poem. They all told me when they joined the site, what they're involved in, and why they decided to stay active at TarValon.net. As you can see, we have a wonderful mix of people here!

TarValon.net Celebrates Three Years of Existence! by Adriana al'Tere
The current TarValon.net is the product of years of work. It started as just a small message board set up because a few friends loved the Wheel of Time. Over the past three years, however, it has grown into a global community of strangers who have become friends. This month, we will celebrate three years of friendships at the Third Anniversary Party in Chicago.
Everyone at TarValon.net has their unique favorite memories. Mother's is when she met her Warder Valorian. Alanar Tansden, Gaidin of Dai M'Hael, fondly remembers running through the Novice halls dressed in boxers. Leilwyn al'Raen, of the Gray Ajah, says her favorite memory is "the day that I signed into my email account and realized I'd been accepted into the Gray Ajah." We all hold fond memories of this place and the friends we have made here.
Everyone also has their favorite part of TarValon.net. For most of us, it is the camaraderie we find in various forums. For Mar'Alex Gelis of the Red Ajah, it is the Torture Chamber. Vallah Sedai of the Green Ajah says it is the constant pooking. (Can you see how well they fit into their Ajahs? ;-) )
TarValon.net changes regularly. Since I have been a member (I joined May 2002), we have changed message boards (goodbye EzBoard) and added new ranks (hello citizens). Novices and Recruits have become Aes Sedai and Gaidin, and some have retired. Communities have sprung up using TarValon.net's guidelines for membership.
And TarValon.net continues to grow. The Amyrlin says of the coming year, "I see us finding new ways to accommodate membership of this size and that will probably include my appointing new staff and a greater development of the city and the places therein." No one thought that one website would grow to be such a huge presence in the Wheel of Time community; we have that presence now, and it will only grow in the future.
