=={{whiteheader1}}Senior Member Interview==
I chose Brown because I wanted to be a Brown sister from the moment I read the books! Also, those of you who have interacted with me know that I am very Brown in RL.

'''Ajah Questions:'''<br>
I do think I'm like the Browns in the books--frumpy, a bit scattered--and I have been told repeatedly by my classmates that they are amazed at how much such a small woman like me can regurgitate on any given subject!

;Why did you choose White?
I love books and learning, and my friends in RL are sometiems a bit intimidated by how intense I can get when there's studying to be done. In class discussions I oftn have a tendency to come up with a completely different approach to a question that sometimes stumps others. If I am trying to find a particular piece of information, I become almost obsessive about it. And of course I have a tendency to daydream--what college student doesn't?

I demoted in 2017 for a variety of reasons. White was the very first Ajah I guested with and as soon as I entered it I could tell it had everything I was looking for in an Ajah. I didn't feel limited by the conversations, I felt like I fit in without a lot of extra effort, and I adored the warm and loving atmosphere in the Sitting Room. I've since nicknamed it the Love, Positivity, Support, and Mama Bear Ajah.

Not really.

My mum named me for Spock's mum in Star Trek.  Nuff said.  :p

In all seriousness, I find that I have certainly turned to logic pretty frequently over the years.  Most recently (2019) it was for a career change where I realized my last........four jobs were in the social services field, so now I'm in the process of applying to schools for advancing further in that field.  It was a logical progression based on both my existing work experiences and the fact that I really enjoy being able to have a job with a purpose.  It didn't make sense logically to go into something that wasn't closely related to what I was already doing.

I found The Eye of the World at a book fair when I worked in the library at my high school during my senior year in 2003-2004.  I gave it to my mum for Christmas that year, and then wound up reclaiming it when she wanted to send it to a book donation sale at the city library.  Then I found the second and the fourth books at our old WaldenBooks store before Borders went out, and Mum bought the rest of the series for me for Christmas that year.  After that, I got the remaining books for Christmas, and Towers of Midnight was the last book I was able to buy at WaldenBooks before the store permanently closed.

EotW--where Rand experiences culture shock visiting all those cities. I'm a country person myself, so I can definitely connect to that.

I wanted to find out when A Memory of Light was going to be published. I loved the very real feeling of the site and the idea that other individuals here weren't just user names with fancy trumped up avatars that were their minds' eye image of themselves......These were real people who were genuinely happy to be here.

It's been years since I did a reread of the whole series but my favorite scene is when Egwene is living with the Aiel and is getting ready to bathe herself with lavender soap she was able to somehow acquire. It reminds her of home and is something she's been looking forward to all day, and then she's summoned to take a sweat bath with the Wise Women.  That scene says a lot, especially reading it as an anthropologist who has worked with other cultures and roughed it.  Something as simple as a bar of lavender soap is such a huge reminder of civilization and one's own background.  When you've been living out of a covered wagon for two weeks and the first week was nothing but rain and mud and being cold, a bar of soap and a proper bath means a lot.

I wanted to find out when the last books were coming out and did an internet search before the days of Google.  I became a novice right after the Black Tower takeover in 2008.  That means the Tower and the books have been a huge part of my entire adult life.  Wow.

;What do you do in "real life"?
My favourite tv shows are Remington Steele, Once Upon a Time, Pan Am, Stargate SG-1, Star Trek, Farscape.....basically anything that's not too intense and has a good plot that makes you think. As for movies, I love the adventure yarns, but I also grew up watching all the old MGM musicals (especially Rogers and Hammerstein).

I'm a medical anthropologist. I've done everything from peer work in mental health nonprofits to writing food policies for tribal governments. ;Do you have any hobbies?
I recently discovered Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series. Normally I will not touch romance with a ten-foot pole, but this series doesn't really hit you over the head with it. Besides, it's got a yarn shop in the middle of it.

Ajah Questions:

Why did you choose White?

I demoted in 2017 for a variety of reasons. White was the very first Ajah I guested with and as soon as I entered it I could tell it had everything I was looking for in an Ajah. I didn't feel limited by the conversations, I felt like I fit in without a lot of extra effort, and I adored the warm and loving atmosphere in the Sitting Room. I've since nicknamed it the Love, Positivity, Support, and Mama Bear Ajah.

Are you like the Whites in the Books? Are you a logical woman with no time for emotion in her life?

My mum named me for Spock's mum in Star Trek. Nuff said.  :p In all seriousness, I find that I have certainly turned to logic pretty frequently over the years.

Do you have a favorite White Ajah character from the novels?

Brendas, but I really need to do a reread.

Book Questions:

How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?

Since 2003.

How did you first get into the series?

I found The Eye of the World at a book fair when I worked in the library at my high school during my senior year in 2003-2004. I gave it to my mum for Christmas that year, and then wound up reclaiming it when she wanted to send it to a book donation sale at the city library. Then I found the second and the fourth books at our old WaldenBooks store before Borders went out, and Mum bought the rest of the series for me for Christmas that year. After that, I got the remaining books for Christmas, and Towers of Midnight was the last book I was able to buy at WaldenBooks before the store permanently closed.

Who is your favorite "hero"?

There are so many!

Favorite bad guy/gal?

I've got to reread the series to answer that effectively.....

Favorite book and scene?

It's been years since I did a reread of the whole series but my favorite scene is when Egwene is living with the Aiel and is getting ready to bathe herself with lavender soap she was able to somehow acquire. It reminds her of home and is something she's been looking forward to all day, and then she's summoned to take a sweat bath with the Wise Women. If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as? An Aes Sedai? Innkeeper? Seanchan Captain?

Wisdom in the Two Rivers.

Do you have any hobbies?

I study cemeteries & own a knitwear venue called Holland Ellicott Knitwear.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?

My radio station is permanently set to classical music. However, when I have to drive home after second shift I won't say no to classic rock or country.
