Paers is a Hunter for the Horn, originally from Mindea in Murandy, that Mat encounters in Maerone. He attacks Olver for sitting on his horse and is beaten by Mat and told to leave the town. His serving man, Padry, considers him a hero. He is tall and lean with typical Murandian curled moustaches and was wearing a typical Murandian coat when Mat met him.
He is friends with Culen.
