It is responsible for upholding the law and keeping the Queen's peace. the Guard is limite in how much of Andor it will go to for example does not go much further than Breen's Spring and has not been to the Two rivers in seven generations and in areas far from the capital, local militia often assume the duties of the Queen's Guard (TWoRJTWoT, Ch. 27). They wear a uniform of long white collars hung over mail and plate, with red cloaks and undercoats (TEotW, Ch. 33). Officers wear golden lion head spurs (TGH, Prologue). The battle cry is "Forward the White Lion of Andor" (TWoRJTWoT, Ch. 27).
They are led by the Captain General, previously Gareth Bryne (TEotW, Ch. 35), but now Birgitte (WH, Prologue). During the Aiel War, they were led by Aranvor Naldwinn.
