The Queen's Guard is the elite military formation of Andor. It is responsible for upholding the law and keeping the Queen's peace. They wear a uniform of long white collars hung over mail and plate, with red cloaks and undercoats (TEotW, Ch. 33). Officers wear golden lion head spurs (TGH, Prologue). They are led by the Captain General, previously Gareth Bryne (TEotW, Ch. 35), but now Birgitte (WH, Prologue). Elayne instituted an addition, a personal bodyguard now composed entirely of women (WH, Ch. 7).
