Talidar was the site of a battle, in current day Shienar during Artur Hawkwing's reign against a Shadowspawn invasion from the Blight in around FY 986. The Trolloc forces were severely beaten and their activity diminished for fifty years (TWoRJTWoT, Ch. 11). A monument to commemorate the victory, of a spire a hundred spans high was built, but destroyed in the War of the Hundred Years (TGH, Ch. 10). In the world that Rand, Loial and Perrin enter through a Portal Stone, the trollocs were victorious and they see a monument to that, toed with a raven instead of a hawk (TGS, Ch. 16)
