Just randomly stumbled over this. At the top it notes "unless stated otherwise" etc. In other articles we have "Reference: book, chapter" at the bottom. Should we aim for consistency or is it okay like this? -- Kyria 14:10, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

In general consistency is good. This format is used when everything is from one chapter (or a larger article where almost everything is from one chapter. For very short ones like this, I don't think it matters apart from whether or not wee are consistent. For the larger articles, having the information and then saying where it came from would also be a little inconsistent, plus we also need to consider user experience - they should know after each piece of information where it is from, rather than having to scan to the end of article to see. Of course, we have to balance this with readability - If we put in the reference after every bit of information, it becomes cluttered, so we also need to try and group the information together, so we might give a few sentences or half a dozen facts, then the reference for all of them--Toral, Department Director and subsupreme overlord 14:34, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
