This month, I ventured into the General forum to ask what I *thought* would be an incredibly contentious question - in short, the Most Important Question Ever Asked! To my surprise, however, the poll results were decidedly conclusive.

Nearly 85% of respondents believe that the toilet paper should always go *over* the roll, with 7% saying *under* the roll, and about 8.5% choosing to enlighten us with their different solutions to the problem.

None of the "under" proponents graced us with their thoughts on the matter, but the "over" crowd were quite vociferous in their reasoning! Maibella Sedai went back to the original patent to point out that toilet paper was in fact designed to hang over the roll. Narysse Sedai, not to be out-researched, pointed out a Victorian-era advertisement that showed the same. Accepted Elania made it a matter of convenience, and Kerna Sedai hijacked the thread to point out that this Most Important of Questions had been asked before.

Most of the "other" respondents were united in just setting the roll on or near the toilet, for various reasons (including cats). Bonus points go to Wil Gaidin, for forgetting which direction is left!

And so our first Question fades into history until the turning of the Wheel brings it round again. This reporter *does* feel lucky to have such a definitive answer before retiring this question... but only time will tell whether that pattern continues.
