Asandra al'Terra

Perrin's POV ~ Characters: Perrin, Faile, Rand, Rhuarc, Moiraine (main); High Lord Torean, Berlain, Bain, Chiad, Lan (sub)

It is the evening. Perrin is going to confront Rand about what happened in his room - why his axe attacked him - and Faile is walking with him.

As they reach the floor that Rand has his chambers on, they come across High Lord Torean and his two personal guards, staring intently towards Rand's chambers. A few words are exchanged between the two parties, and Torean leaves.

Berlain appears, near running, from Rand's rooms. Perrin smells fear from her. Faile decides to leave, and Perrin walks towards Rand's chambers, where a ring of Defenders stand, but do not challenge him; and six Maidens of the Spear, including Bain and Chiad, were protecting the actual door. Bain and Chiad stopped him, but let him in after a bit of conversation.

Perrin steps into the room, took one look at Rand - who was sitting, covered in blood and shards of glass with Callandor on his knees, and smashed mirrors, books and overturned furniture making the room chaotic - and called for the Maidens to bring Moiraine. Perrin asked what Rand had done, and Rand said that he had done nothing, that it was one of the Forsaken. They wonder about Mat, but Rand does not seem to care whether he is dead or not.

Rhuarc enters the room. Berlain had told him what happened, and he also notified Rand and Perrin that there were many other rumors sprouting. At that moment, Moiraine glided into the room, followed by Lan. The Aes Sedai asked Rand to hold saidin for strength, but he could not; and so, she had to Heal him regularly, which could result in him being bedridden for the next day or so.

Rand sent everyone except Bain and Chiad - who would not leave - out; the two Aiel women had brought bath water, and insisted on washing him. Rand said that he would talk to them tomorrow, and Moiraine replied that he most certainly would. Perrin spoke briefly with Rhuarc, then moved towards his chambers, resolving to make sure Faile left Tear without him.
