The short answer is that I simply am Red. Strength and independence are important to me in my own life and the Red Ajah embodies those values.

The Reds in the books are strong women who can stand on their own--so yes, in a way I am.

Great, there's definitely something to enjoy at each level of membership.

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Almost 5 years

;What things do you do for TV.net?
Let's see, I've written 200 something articles for the library, I've moderated the Book forums and Current Events, I've been Guildmaster for the Innkeeper's Guild, I've served several terms in the Hall, I've been the Heart of the Red Ajah, I've been in the Legal Department and the Assistant to the Amyrlin. I'm currently the Head of the Red Ajah.

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Only if you try telling me that I hate men. :p

;How did you get to read the Series?
My first college roommate got me to read them.

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Highly doubtful, although there might be one or two of the men on the site that could have tempted me.

Favorite character is definitely Moiraine, although I really like Elayne too. My favorite nation is Cairhien.

I've attended the Anni parties in 2006 and 2007.

A little bit of everything.

My dad and several of my friends had been reading the series, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

Egwene, after her time with the Aiel Wise Ones and while she is Amyrlin.
I don't think I really have a favorite nation.

A few informal ones. I liked hanging out with the people, but didn't like that there never really seemed to be a plan and it was always kinda disorganized as to what we would be doing.

Something drew me to this group of women, I can't exactly say what, as its difficult to describe. I just knew it was my home from very early on.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
In some ways yes, and some ways definately not.

Having a strong character, being independent and determined... definately.

I certainly do not hate men, but I don't think all of the book Reds hate men either.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
I enjoyed being a Junior Member on all levels. It took me a while to be raised to Senior Member, but I enjoyed being a Junior Member non the less.

Just over 2 years and 4 months

;What things do you do for TV.net?
I am the Visual Resource Lead, the Artisan Guild Master and I also moderate Current Events.

Of course not

Stumbled across the Eye of the World in a book shop, while actually looking for another book that was out of stock.

I live in Cape Town South Africa. I am a full time student studying correspondance, doing a BA in Computer Generated Multimedia. I also work full time in marketing.

I aim to one day very soon in the immediate future, to start my own business of owning an art gallery combined with a rehab/community center.

I love the outdoors, hiking, camping and anything else that goes with it.

I also love art, its one of my major passions in life.

;Why did you choose Red?
I was torn between Red and Yellow, but I felt most myself in Red. Even though I didn't have any "close" relationships with anyone in the Ajah at the time, it's just where I felt most able to be me.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
In a way. I'm very dedicated to my cause(s)and don't mind making sacrifices (i.e. no warder, etc) in order to make those things happen. I feel I am able to adapt, as the Reds in the books do, to changes in my "reality" and try my best to work them in my favor or towards my goal.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
I didn't much enjoy being a Citizen. The City was too overwhelming at the time. If the Colorado Clan hadn't adopted me, I'd probably still be a Citizen for lack of SM sponsorship! I loved being a Novice...it was a great time to get to know the Ajahs and who I was on the site. It's also when I began helping the Mistress of Novices. When I became an Accepted I was already a Red, so that was the perfect chance to focus on our group and get to know my Sisters better. Loved it!

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Since October of 2004...so a little over 3 years.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
I'm currently the Mistress of Accepted and am the Local Liaison for Anni Party 08. I have been the Local Liaison for Anni before, in 07 as well.

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Only if people who are straight forward and driven scare you! Otherwise, I (and the rest of the Reds) are pretty nice, outgoing people!

;How did you get to read the Series?
A group of my friends in high school began reading them and we passed them around. Had to wait a year between each book because RJ just couldn't write as fast as we could read!

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Probably not. I really don't have that many close male friends on the site. A few, but they are more like brothers to me. I just don't feel the need to bond.

;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
Currently, my mentee is Myriam! And I lurv her muchly!!!

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
I would have to say Mat as my overall favorite. Each book someone strikes me as wonderful, but Mat has always been in the forefront. My favorite nation is probably Cairhein...the social and cultural aspects just sort of fascinate me! :P

;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
Light yes! I've been to 3 Anni Parties so far. I love them! It's the best way to meet people you don't normally talk to on the boards! I have made so many friends from rl things and it lasts even if we don't post much together.

I love rock and alternative. Some pop (not bubblegum) and rap and country....just not in large doses. Some of my favorite artists are the Cure, Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Fall Out Boy...

;What are your favorite movies?
Anything scary....or action/adventury....I like to be excited and involved in some way.

;What is the craziest/stupidest thing you've ever done?

I am the Assisstant Principal (Dean of Students) at a public charter school.

I have a horse, a dog, 2 geckos and 3 cats.

I'm 31, soon to be 32. I'm single, live in western Colorado, and work as an assisstant principal. I have a BA in Spanish Bilingual Bicultural Elementary Eduction and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in ESL and Bilingual Education. I'm currently working on the last few credit hours for my administrators license. I have lived in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon. I have traveled to Scotland, England, Canada and Jamaica.

;When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah?
The first time I was raised January 2003, and the second time August 14, 2005.

;Why did you choose Red?
I went Red because the Ajah holds the same values that I do: Inner strength; Independence; Sisterhood; Self reliance; and getting the job done no matter what.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
I used to not think so, until I genuinely looked at who the Reds are in the books. I believe they are similar to our Ajah now, however, because they have many of the same traits. They are independent - they don't feel the need to have a warder. They do their job despite being disliked for it. Since being a Red at TarValon.net, my view of the book Reds has completely changed. Now I think they pretty much rock!

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
My time as a Citizen was fun. I was coming back from being a Retired Senior Member, so I already knew many people on the site. That probably made my time a little easier than others, since I didn't have to get to know people and find sponsors. My time as a Novice and Accepted was really fun too.

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
I believe this week (around September 29 or 30) is my 5 year anniversary. Of course, there were a few months in there where I was retired, so subtracting a few months I would say I have been a member for almost five years.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
I have been a Sitter a few times. I have been a Mentor. I have been the Heart of the Reds. And I post tons of pictures of my beagle Ella!

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Nope! The Reds are a lovely bunch of women. Don't be scared, and try to get to know them.

;How did you get to read the Series?
I saw the Eye of the World at a used bookstore and thought Moiraine was cute. Then I read the back cover and thought it sounded fabulous - so I bought it.

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Bonding is simply not for me.

Calenthe te'Veile, who is a Novice, and Eliana Alarwyn, an Accepted.

My favorite character is Moiraine, and my favorite nation is Cairhien.

I have attended a few, and I highly recommend them. You finally get to see face to face the people you talk to almost every day online. Plus, they're lots of fun.

I like just about every genre of music, if the particular song is appealing to my ears.

The Abyss, Aliens, Star Wars, The Breakfast Club, Serenity, Charade, The Gambit, Bourne Identity....

I edit and help maintain a website on Buddhist films.

I'm 18, graduating from school in March next year. I've been crazy for fantasy as well as anything concerning Japan ever since I was about 9 and actually dream of moving to Japan some day. I'm single, only ever had one boyfriend in my entire life, and am quite content with it being that way. :p
I'm also one of the rare geeks who are into Sports AND Gaming :o

;Why did you choose Red?
I was torn between Red and Yellow, but I felt most myself in Red. Even though I didn't have any "close" relationships with anyone in the Ajah at the time, it's just where I felt most able to be me.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
In a way. I'm very dedicated to my cause(s)and don't mind making sacrifices (i.e. no warder, etc) in order to make those things happen. I feel I am able to adapt, as the Reds in the books do, to changes in my "reality" and try my best to work them in my favor or towards my goal.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
I didn't much enjoy being a Citizen. The City was too overwhelming at the time. If the Colorado Clan hadn't adopted me, I'd probably still be a Citizen for lack of SM sponsorship! I loved being a Novice...it was a great time to get to know the Ajahs and who I was on the site. It's also when I began helping the Mistress of Novices. When I became an Accepted I was already a Red, so that was the perfect chance to focus on our group and get to know my Sisters better. Loved it!

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Since October of 2004...so a little over 3 years.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
I'm currently the Mistress of Accepted and am the Local Liaison for Anni Party 08. I have been the Local Liaison for Anni before, in 07 as well.

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Only if people who are straight forward and driven scare you! Otherwise, I (and the rest of the Reds) are pretty nice, outgoing people!

;How did you get to read the Series?
A group of my friends in high school began reading them and we passed them around. Had to wait a year between each book because RJ just couldn't write as fast as we could read!

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Probably not. I really don't have that many close male friends on the site. A few, but they are more like brothers to me. I just don't feel the need to bond.

;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
Currently, my mentee is Myriam! And I lurv her muchly!!!

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
I would have to say Mat as my overall favorite. Each book someone strikes me as wonderful, but Mat has always been in the forefront. My favorite nation is probably Cairhein...the social and cultural aspects just sort of fascinate me! :P

Light yes! I've been to 3 Anni Parties so far. I love them! It's the best way to meet people you don't normally talk to on the boards! I have made so many friends from rl things and it lasts even if we don't post much together.

I love rock and alternative. Some pop (not bubblegum) and rap and country....just not in large doses. Some of my favorite artists are the Cure, Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Fall Out Boy...

Anything scary....or action/adventury....I like to be excited and involved in some way.

I am the Assisstant Principal (Dean of Students) at a public charter school.

I'm currently working on the last few credit hours for my administrators license. I have lived in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon. ;When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah?
I honestly wouldn't know. I got raised Accepted on 28 October 2004, and accepted in the Red the next day. As far as I know I've only been Accepted a short while so somewhere soon after I'd say. In a way being Aes Sedai was less important to me then being home.

;Why did you choose Red?
It chose me. I had been hanging out a lot while I was a citizen, and then when I joined the Tower I became a roomie with Morwyna, who also had very red tendencies, and both of us had red mentors. In a way the other Ajahs might as well not have existed, Red has always been home for me.
The women in it are as amazing as they are diverse, yet in a way still the same in so many ways.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
Well I don't hate men for one, but I do feel like I will do what is needed, even if that makes me weird or an outcast; if I find it important enough; which, I believe, is one of the biggest treats of the Reds in the books, even the annoying, idiot ones.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
very calm. While being citizen my Übersheep Betsy would occasionally cause trouble by eating furniture in the Appartments but other then that I've always been a calm, rule-abiding person. Think I've only once been sent to the Mistress of Novices under all the time I've been novice/accepted (and I've been novice for almost a year )

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Since September or October 2003 if I remember correctly; so that'd be six and a half yearS about now.

A friend of mine mentioned them once, and another one did so too a few years later and we started talking about it; so I went to look it up at the library and got hooked

No. I have my Sisters.

Camigwen Tah'Sien. Although I believe she's not around a lot any more.

Nynaeve i think. and nation would have to be the Athan'Miere, if they count as one.

I've been to a number of them before money became an issue, and loved every single one of them. They are an amazing way to put a face on people you know so well yet never met before.
oh and you might meet others you've never talked to on the boards but who can turn out to become amazing friends or more.

Most things, depending on mood. the only things I don't really like are heavy metal and stuff like that

Love Actually and Pretty Woman. In general romantic comedies / chickflicks.

Not that there's much to say.... My RL name is Tessa, but i respond as easilly to Osaka; I'm about 26 and was born in Belgium but am now living in Sweden with an amazing guy -Melvar al'Caarn of DM- and a gorgeous cat. I enjoy going out for walks, in-line or bike tours and try to go to the gym twice a week. I love to read and will play WoW in my spare time.

I just really felt at home with the women in the Ajah. They are funny, witty, intelligent, playful, willful, steadfast, and so much more - everything about them was attractive to me. Once I started guesting with them, I never left. Then, one day I met Leora and Elia at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, and we had so much fun - I was so energized and uplifted by my interaction with them, and that was the afternoon I really started thinking of myself as Red. It was a very joyous discovery and experience, to recognize the kinship I have with the women of the Ajah.

*;Are you like the Red in the Books?
I suppose I am, in some ways - but I think I'm like all the Ajahs in some ways. The book Reds get a bad rap because we see them first mostly through the eyes of Thom and Rand, to whom they are monstrous and dangerous. And then there's Elaida. It is only later in the series that we see a softer side of the Red Ajah. I see the Reds as sort of the guardians of the world against the Dark One's legacy - the taint on Saidin; where the Greens stand ready for the Last Battle, the Reds sort of make sure the world gets there intact, keeping the taint of Saidin in check by keeping male channelers in check. And now, with Saidin cleansed, my current working theory about the future of the Reds is that their purpose will shift to bonding men who can channel and learning to completely understand Saidin and the way men use it. I don't really see myself as a guardian, but I do see myself as following a purpose. The book Reds are pretty purposeful, but then so were all Aes Sedai? So, I don't know. Yes, and no.

*;Do you dislike men?
This question makes me giggle. This is the trait from the books that somehow gets transferred onto the Tower Reds, but it's a mystery as to why... Many of us are married to men (myself included), and I can't see anything in our Tower interactions as a group or as individuals that would indicate that we hate men. It's possible that people (incorrectly) infer this about us because we do not have Warders in our halls? I don't know. But, short answer: no, I do not hate men. :P

*;Are you a driven woman with her own goals in life?
Most definitely.

*;Do you have a favorite Red Ajah character from the novels?
I really like Pevara. She was living this fairly quiet, uneventful existence until Seaine tapped her to search for the Black Ajah, and then she stepped up to the task and followed it through even when it was scary. I'm hoping she will have lots more screen time in the final novel.

*;How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?
About 12 years, I think.

*;How did you first get into the series?
Somewhere in the late 90s or early 00s (I can't remember when this happened), I joined a MUSH called Tales of Ta'veren. At that time, I had no knowledge of the Wheel of Time, and when I joined the MUSH, I thought it was just a fantasy-themed shared world - I didn't know it was based on a book series. I played for months before I realized it, just working my character off the extensive information database the MUSH maintained about the various areas opened for play. It wasn't until someone asked me something - it might have been, "Have you read the new book yet?" - and I stopped and said, "Wait, there are books?" And, although facepalming was years in the future, my fellow MUSHer facepalmed and told me to go to a library and not come back until I'd read the first book. So, I got the book, and the rest is history.

*;Who is your favorite "hero"?
I love Egwene. Her journey from wide-eyed, arrogant girl to driven young woman to the Amyrlin Seat is such a powerful story. It's what we all dream of, isn't it? She got swept away by what she thought would be a magnificent adventure, a small part in a very large story, and then suddenly she had the power to change the story, put her hand on it and shape it according to her views. I don't think Egwene's choices have all been right or wise, and sometimes she is willfully blinded to facts, but she's got this unbreakable spirit that I can't help but admire. Plus, the battle scene of her in the White Tower? That was pure awesome. Blockbuster movie awesome.

*;Favorite bad guy/gal?
I think I'll have to go with Lanfear. She's complicated. Padan Fain/Mordeth is another favorite because he's so completely insane. I'm waiting to see if he bites off Rand's other hand at the Last Battle, thus enabling Rand to save the world, because Fain/Mordeth is so totally Gollum.

Oh good grief, I can't pick one out of thousands... 
The Gathering Storm: Egwene's battle against the Seanchan in the Tower.

Definitely Aes Sedai.

I'm currently a full-time student. I'm finishing a MA in digital media while also taking classes in physics and mathematics to prepare for an Astronomy PhD program.

Games: video games, tabletop games, etc. 
Writing: working on a bunch of novels in various stages, also working on some interactive fiction stories. 
Fandom: fan fiction, keeping up with various media (television is my main thing), participating in or reading fandom discussions and dissections of media and stories.
Astronomy: local astronomy clubs, star parties, stargazing, telescope, astrophotography 
Photography: best hobby ever.

*;What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Just about anything. I like flowing, melodic sounds and up-beat, bouncy rhythms and chaotic, dissonant soundscapes. Rock, alternative rock, classic rock, classical, new wave, pop, glam, 80s, 90s - my Pandora is pretty eclectic.

Television is a big hobby for me. I love long-format storytelling (hello, WoT fan), and the tv genre is evolving at an exciting pace right now.

I wanted to be an astronaut. That was before I saw The Right Stuff (ZOMG NEEDLES, NEEDLES EVERYWHERE), after which I decided astronomy was quite a respectable (needle-less) profession that I could do right here on the ground.

The short answer is that I simply am Red. Strength and independence are important to me in my own life and the Red Ajah embodies those values.

I'm currently the Head of the Red Ajah.

;When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah?
The first time I was raised January 2003, and the second time August 14, 2005.

;Why did you choose Red?
I went Red because the Ajah holds the same values that I do: Inner strength; Independence; Sisterhood; Self reliance; and getting the job done no matter what.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
I used to not think so, until I genuinely looked at who the Reds are in the books. I believe they are similar to our Ajah now, however, because they have many of the same traits. They are independent - they don't feel the need to have a warder. They do their job despite being disliked for it. Since being a Red at TarValon.net, my view of the book Reds has completely changed. Now I think they pretty much rock!

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
My time as a Citizen was fun. I was coming back from being a Retired Senior Member, so I already knew many people on the site. That probably made my time a little easier than others, since I didn't have to get to know people and find sponsors. My time as a Novice and Accepted was really fun too.

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
I believe this week (around September 29 or 30) is my 5 year anniversary. Of course, there were a few months in there where I was retired, so subtracting a few months I would say I have been a member for almost five years.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
I have been a Sitter a few times. I have been a Mentor. I have been the Heart of the Reds. And I post tons of pictures of my beagle Ella!

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Nope! The Reds are a lovely bunch of women. Don't be scared, and try to get to know them.

;How did you get to read the Series?
I saw the Eye of the World at a used bookstore and thought Moiraine was cute. Then I read the back cover and thought it sounded fabulous - so I bought it.

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Bonding is simply not for me.

Calenthe te'Veile, who is a Novice, and Eliana Alarwyn, an Accepted.

My favorite character is Moiraine, and my favorite nation is Cairhien.

I have attended a few, and I highly recommend them. You finally get to see face to face the people you talk to almost every day online. Plus, they're lots of fun.

The Abyss, Aliens, Star Wars, The Breakfast Club, Serenity, Charade, The Gambit, Bourne Identity....

;Why did you choose Red?
I was torn between Red and Yellow, but I felt most myself in Red. Even though I didn't have any "close" relationships with anyone in the Ajah at the time, it's just where I felt most able to be me.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
In a way. I'm very dedicated to my cause(s)and don't mind making sacrifices (i.e. no warder, etc) in order to make those things happen. I feel I am able to adapt, as the Reds in the books do, to changes in my "reality" and try my best to work them in my favor or towards my goal.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
I didn't much enjoy being a Citizen. The City was too overwhelming at the time. If the Colorado Clan hadn't adopted me, I'd probably still be a Citizen for lack of SM sponsorship! I loved being a Novice...it was a great time to get to know the Ajahs and who I was on the site. It's also when I began helping the Mistress of Novices. When I became an Accepted I was already a Red, so that was the perfect chance to focus on our group and get to know my Sisters better. Loved it!

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Since October of 2004...so a little over 3 years.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
I'm currently the Mistress of Accepted and am the Local Liaison for Anni Party 08. I have been the Local Liaison for Anni before, in 07 as well.

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Only if people who are straight forward and driven scare you! Otherwise, I (and the rest of the Reds) are pretty nice, outgoing people!

;How did you get to read the Series?
A group of my friends in high school began reading them and we passed them around. Had to wait a year between each book because RJ just couldn't write as fast as we could read!

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Probably not. I really don't have that many close male friends on the site. A few, but they are more like brothers to me. I just don't feel the need to bond.

;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
Currently, my mentee is Myriam! And I lurv her muchly!!!

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
I would have to say Mat as my overall favorite. Each book someone strikes me as wonderful, but Mat has always been in the forefront. My favorite nation is probably Cairhein...the social and cultural aspects just sort of fascinate me! :P

;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
Light yes! I've been to 3 Anni Parties so far. I love them! It's the best way to meet people you don't normally talk to on the boards! I have made so many friends from rl things and it lasts even if we don't post much together.

;What kind of music do you like?
I love rock and alternative. Some pop (not bubblegum) and rap and country....just not in large doses. Some of my favorite artists are the Cure, Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Fall Out Boy...

;What are your favorite movies?
Anything scary....or action/adventury....I like to be excited and involved in some way.

;What is the craziest/stupidest thing you've ever done?

I am the Assisstant Principal (Dean of Students) at a public charter school.

I have a BA in Spanish Bilingual Bicultural Elementary Eduction and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in ESL and Bilingual Education. I'm currently working on the last few credit hours for my administrators license. I have lived in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon. I have traveled to Scotland, England, Canada and Jamaica.

Something drew me to this group of women, I can't exactly say what, as its difficult to describe. I just knew it was my home from very early on.

In some ways yes, and some ways definately not.

Having a strong character, being independent and determined... definately.

I certainly do not hate men, but I don't think all of the book Reds hate men either.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
I enjoyed being a Junior Member on all levels. It took me a while to be raised to Senior Member, but I enjoyed being a Junior Member non the less.

Just over 2 years and 4 months

I am the Visual Resource Lead, the Artisan Guild Master and I also moderate Current Events.

;What is your Tower name?
Osaka Demae

;When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah?
I honestly wouldn't know. I got raised Accepted on 28 October 2004, and accepted in the Red the next day. As far as I know I've only been Accepted a short while so somewhere soon after I'd say. In a way being Aes Sedai was less important to me then being home.

;Why did you choose Red?
It chose me. I had been hanging out a lot while I was a citizen, and then when I joined the Tower I became a roomie with Morwyna, who also had very red tendencies, and both of us had red mentors. In a way the other Ajahs might as well not have existed, Red has always been home for me.
The women in it are as amazing as they are diverse, yet in a way still the same in so many ways.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
Well I don't hate men for one, but I do feel like I will do what is needed, even if that makes me weird or an outcast; if I find it important enough; which, I believe, is one of the biggest treats of the Reds in the books, even the annoying, idiot ones.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
very calm. While being citizen my Übersheep Betsy would occasionally cause trouble by eating furniture in the Appartments but other then that I've always been a calm, rule-abiding person. Think I've only once been sent to the Mistress of Novices under all the time I've been novice/accepted (and I've been novice for almost a year )

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Since September or October 2003 if I remember correctly; so that'd be six and a half yearS about now.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
Not quite as much as I probably should. I serve as Sitter for the hall when asked to... I think that's just about it.

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Yes. Unless you bribe me with handcuffs.

;How did you get to read the Series?
A friend of mine mentioned them once, and another one did so too a few years later and we started talking about it; so I went to look it up at the library and got hooked

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
No. I have my Sisters.

;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
Camigwen Tah'Sien. Although I believe she's not around a lot any more.

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
Nynaeve i think. and nation would have to be the Athan'Miere, if they count as one.

;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
I've been to a number of them before money became an issue, and loved every single one of them. They are an amazing way to put a face on people you know so well yet never met before.
oh and you might meet others you've never talked to on the boards but who can turn out to become amazing friends or more.

;What kind of music do you like?
Most things, depending on mood. the only things I don't really like are heavy metal and stuff like that

;What are your favorite movies?
Love Actually and Pretty Woman. In general romantic comedies / chickflicks.

Not that there's much to say.... My RL name is Tessa, but i respond as easilly to Osaka; I'm about 26 and was born in Belgium but am now living in Sweden with an amazing guy -Melvar al'Caarn of DM- and a gorgeous cat. I enjoy going out for walks, in-line or bike tours and try to go to the gym twice a week. I love to read and will play WoW in my spare time.
I'm an oddball once you get to know me, though I'll try not to let you notice too much. Unless I want to scare you :D

I just really felt at home with the women in the Ajah. They are funny, witty, intelligent, playful, willful, steadfast, and so much more - everything about them was attractive to me. Once I started guesting with them, I never left. Then, one day I met Leora and Elia at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, and we had so much fun - I was so energized and uplifted by my interaction with them, and that was the afternoon I really started thinking of myself as Red. It was a very joyous discovery and experience, to recognize the kinship I have with the women of the Ajah.

*;Are you like the Red in the Books?
I suppose I am, in some ways - but I think I'm like all the Ajahs in some ways. The book Reds get a bad rap because we see them first mostly through the eyes of Thom and Rand, to whom they are monstrous and dangerous. And then there's Elaida. It is only later in the series that we see a softer side of the Red Ajah. I see the Reds as sort of the guardians of the world against the Dark One's legacy - the taint on Saidin; where the Greens stand ready for the Last Battle, the Reds sort of make sure the world gets there intact, keeping the taint of Saidin in check by keeping male channelers in check. And now, with Saidin cleansed, my current working theory about the future of the Reds is that their purpose will shift to bonding men who can channel and learning to completely understand Saidin and the way men use it. I don't really see myself as a guardian, but I do see myself as following a purpose. The book Reds are pretty purposeful, but then so were all Aes Sedai? So, I don't know. Yes, and no.

*;Do you dislike men?
This question makes me giggle. This is the trait from the books that somehow gets transferred onto the Tower Reds, but it's a mystery as to why... Many of us are married to men (myself included), and I can't see anything in our Tower interactions as a group or as individuals that would indicate that we hate men. It's possible that people (incorrectly) infer this about us because we do not have Warders in our halls? I don't know. But, short answer: no, I do not hate men. :P

*;Are you a driven woman with her own goals in life?
Most definitely.

*;Do you have a favorite Red Ajah character from the novels?
I really like Pevara. She was living this fairly quiet, uneventful existence until Seaine tapped her to search for the Black Ajah, and then she stepped up to the task and followed it through even when it was scary. I'm hoping she will have lots more screen time in the final novel.

*;How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?
About 12 years, I think.

*;How did you first get into the series?
Somewhere in the late 90s or early 00s (I can't remember when this happened), I joined a MUSH called Tales of Ta'veren. At that time, I had no knowledge of the Wheel of Time, and when I joined the MUSH, I thought it was just a fantasy-themed shared world - I didn't know it was based on a book series. I played for months before I realized it, just working my character off the extensive information database the MUSH maintained about the various areas opened for play. It wasn't until someone asked me something - it might have been, "Have you read the new book yet?" - and I stopped and said, "Wait, there are books?" And, although facepalming was years in the future, my fellow MUSHer facepalmed and told me to go to a library and not come back until I'd read the first book. So, I got the book, and the rest is history.

*;Who is your favorite "hero"?
I love Egwene. Her journey from wide-eyed, arrogant girl to driven young woman to the Amyrlin Seat is such a powerful story. It's what we all dream of, isn't it? She got swept away by what she thought would be a magnificent adventure, a small part in a very large story, and then suddenly she had the power to change the story, put her hand on it and shape it according to her views. I don't think Egwene's choices have all been right or wise, and sometimes she is willfully blinded to facts, but she's got this unbreakable spirit that I can't help but admire. Plus, the battle scene of her in the White Tower? That was pure awesome. Blockbuster movie awesome.

*;Favorite bad guy/gal?
I think I'll have to go with Lanfear. She's complicated. Padan Fain/Mordeth is another favorite because he's so completely insane. I'm waiting to see if he bites off Rand's other hand at the Last Battle, thus enabling Rand to save the world, because Fain/Mordeth is so totally Gollum.

*;Favorite book and scene?
Oh good grief, I can't pick one out of thousands... 
The Gathering Storm: Egwene's battle against the Seanchan in the Tower.

*;If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as? An Aes Sedai? Innkeeper? Seanchan Captain?
Definitely Aes Sedai.

*;What do you do in "real life"?
I'm currently a full-time student. I'm finishing a MA in digital media while also taking classes in physics and mathematics to prepare for an Astronomy PhD program.

*;Do you have any hobbies?
Games: video games, tabletop games, etc. 
Writing: working on a bunch of novels in various stages, also working on some interactive fiction stories. 
Fandom: fan fiction, keeping up with various media (television is my main thing), participating in or reading fandom discussions and dissections of media and stories.
Astronomy: local astronomy clubs, star parties, stargazing, telescope, astrophotography 
Photography: best hobby ever.

*;What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Just about anything. I like flowing, melodic sounds and up-beat, bouncy rhythms and chaotic, dissonant soundscapes. Rock, alternative rock, classic rock, classical, new wave, pop, glam, 80s, 90s - my Pandora is pretty eclectic.

*;What are some of your favorite movies / television shows?
Television is a big hobby for me. I love long-format storytelling (hello, WoT fan), and the tv genre is evolving at an exciting pace right now.

I love just about everything Madeleine L'Engle ever wrote. Same for Robin McKinley and Jane Austen. Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kaye. The Cygnet series by Patricia McKillip. Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam. The Pillow Book by Sei Shonagon. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. The Woman in White by Wilke Collins.

*;What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?
I wanted to be an astronaut. That was before I saw The Right Stuff (ZOMG NEEDLES, NEEDLES EVERYWHERE), after which I decided astronomy was quite a respectable (needle-less) profession that I could do right here on the ground.

I really like Pevara. She was living this fairly quiet, uneventful existence until Seaine tapped her to search for the Black Ajah, and then she stepped up to the task and followed it through even when it was scary. I'm hoping she will have lots more screen time in the final novel.

About 12 years, I think.

*;How did you first get into the series?
Somewhere in the late 90s or early 00s (I can't remember when this happened), I joined a MUSH called Tales of Ta'veren. At that time, I had no knowledge of the Wheel of Time, and when I joined the MUSH, I thought it was just a fantasy-themed shared world - I didn't know it was based on a book series. I played for months before I realized it, just working my character off the extensive information database the MUSH maintained about the various areas opened for play. It wasn't until someone asked me something - it might have been, "Have you read the new book yet?" - and I stopped and said, "Wait, there are books?" And, although facepalming was years in the future, my fellow MUSHer facepalmed and told me to go to a library and not come back until I'd read the first book. So, I got the book, and the rest is history.

*;Who is your favorite "hero"?
I love Egwene. Her journey from wide-eyed, arrogant girl to driven young woman to the Amyrlin Seat is such a powerful story. It's what we all dream of, isn't it? She got swept away by what she thought would be a magnificent adventure, a small part in a very large story, and then suddenly she had the power to change the story, put her hand on it and shape it according to her views. I don't think Egwene's choices have all been right or wise, and sometimes she is willfully blinded to facts, but she's got this unbreakable spirit that I can't help but admire. Plus, the battle scene of her in the White Tower? That was pure awesome. Blockbuster movie awesome.

*;Favorite bad guy/gal?
I think I'll have to go with Lanfear. She's complicated. Padan Fain/Mordeth is another favorite because he's so completely insane. I'm waiting to see if he bites off Rand's other hand at the Last Battle, thus enabling Rand to save the world, because Fain/Mordeth is so totally Gollum.

I'm currently a full-time student. I'm finishing a MA in digital media while also taking classes in physics and mathematics to prepare for an Astronomy PhD program.

Games: video games, tabletop games, etc. 
Writing: working on a bunch of novels in various stages, also working on some interactive fiction stories. 
Fandom: fan fiction, keeping up with various media (television is my main thing), participating in or reading fandom discussions and dissections of media and stories.
Astronomy: local astronomy clubs, star parties, stargazing, telescope, astrophotography 
Photography: best hobby ever.

Just about anything. I like flowing, melodic sounds and up-beat, bouncy rhythms and chaotic, dissonant soundscapes. Rock, alternative rock, classic rock, classical, new wave, pop, glam, 80s, 90s - my Pandora is pretty eclectic.

Television is a big hobby for me. I love long-format storytelling (hello, WoT fan), and the tv genre is evolving at an exciting pace right now.

I wanted to be an astronaut. That was before I saw The Right Stuff (ZOMG NEEDLES, NEEDLES EVERYWHERE), after which I decided astronomy was quite a respectable (needle-less) profession that I could do right here on the ground.

I'm 18, graduating from school in March next year. I've been crazy for fantasy as well as anything concerning Japan ever since I was about 9 and actually dream of moving to Japan some day. I'm single, only ever had one boyfriend in my entire life, and am quite content with it being that way. :p
I'm also one of the rare geeks who are into Sports AND Gaming :o

The short answer is that I simply am Red. Strength and independence are important to me in my own life and the Red Ajah embodies those values.

Let's see, I've written 200 something articles for the library, I've moderated the Book forums and Current Events, I've been Guildmaster for the Innkeeper's Guild, I've served several terms in the Hall, I've been the Heart of the Red Ajah, I've been in the Legal Department and the Assistant to the Amyrlin. I'm currently the Head of the Red Ajah.

My first college roommate got me to read them.

Simply put, it's my home, where my sisters are.

No. Unless you count the fierce loyalty to my sisters, and the passion to change the world for the better. I never pictured myself a Red when I first joined because of the books. My sisters changed my mind for me.

I loved every step along the way, met some wonderful people, and couldn't have asked for a better time as a JM.

A little over two years.

Wreak havoc. :D

You should never be afraid of me because I'm Red. You should be wary that I'll speak my mind, but that's about the extent of my "scariness".

My sister's then-boyfriend gave me the first book, and I was hooked.

No. My sisters are enough.

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
Moiraine without a doubt is my favorite character, though Lan and Aviendha provide a close second. Favorite nation is the Three-Fold Land.

;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
No official RL functions; not enough funding. But it's my sincere hope to go to an official one sometime; I've been to plenty of non-official events, and I love meeting Tower people.

All kinds, but I listen mainly to rock, broadway, classical, and oldies.

LotR trilogy, PotC trilogy, Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Into the Woods.

;When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah?
The first time I was raised January 2003, and the second time August 14, 2005.

;Why did you choose Red?
I went Red because the Ajah holds the same values that I do: Inner strength; Independence; Sisterhood; Self reliance; and getting the job done no matter what.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
I used to not think so, until I genuinely looked at who the Reds are in the books. I believe they are similar to our Ajah now, however, because they have many of the same traits. They are independent - they don't feel the need to have a warder. They do their job despite being disliked for it. Since being a Red at TarValon.net, my view of the book Reds has completely changed. Now I think they pretty much rock!

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
My time as a Citizen was fun. I was coming back from being a Retired Senior Member, so I already knew many people on the site. That probably made my time a little easier than others, since I didn't have to get to know people and find sponsors. My time as a Novice and Accepted was really fun too.

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
I believe this week (around September 29 or 30) is my 5 year anniversary. Of course, there were a few months in there where I was retired, so subtracting a few months I would say I have been a member for almost five years.

I have been a Sitter a few times. I have been a Mentor. I have been the Heart of the Reds. And I post tons of pictures of my beagle Ella!

Nope! The Reds are a lovely bunch of women. Don't be scared, and try to get to know them.

;How did you get to read the Series?
I saw the Eye of the World at a used bookstore and thought Moiraine was cute. Then I read the back cover and thought it sounded fabulous - so I bought it.

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
Bonding is simply not for me.

;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
Calenthe te'Veile, who is a Novice, and Eliana Alarwyn, an Accepted.

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
My favorite character is Moiraine, and my favorite nation is Cairhien.

;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
I have attended a few, and I highly recommend them. You finally get to see face to face the people you talk to almost every day online. Plus, they're lots of fun.

;What kind of music do you like?
I like just about every genre of music, if the particular song is appealing to my ears.

;What are your favorite movies?
The Abyss, Aliens, Star Wars, The Breakfast Club, Serenity, Charade, The Gambit, Bourne Identity....

;What job do you have?
I edit and help maintain a website on Buddhist films.

;Do you have a pet?
My lovely beagle named Miss Ella. Three cats - Wicket, Maverick, and Parker.

;What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a Marine when I was four, and I saw a film on bootcamp. I thought it looked like tons of fun.

;When were you raised to Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah?

;Why did you choose Red?
Simply put, Red is where my heart is. I am incredibly independent and straightforward, and I believe in strength of mind and character. The Red Ajah truly holds these ideals close, which makes me feel right at home.

;Are you like the Red in the Books?
Like the Reds in the books, I too am an independent woman with strong ideals and a heap of determination.

;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
As a Citizen I had a good time getting to know other new members and some of the SMs. While a Novice and then as an Accepted, I really enjoyed the ability to not only get to know individuals, but to get to know the membership groups. Honestly, each step was quite a bit of fun.

;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
Since November 16, 2006.

;What things do you do for TV.net?
Where to start... I have written a couple of articles for the Library, I've served as a Mundane World moderator, I am a member of the legal team, I've served as the General Services Manager, and just very recently I've become the Director of Moderators.

;Should we be scared because you're Red?
Of course not. You should be scared of me, but not because I'm Red.

;How did you get to read the Series?
A friend of mind brought along the first couple of books when we went on vacation, and I realized that I'd either have to join in with the reading or spend most of the vacation alone!

;If Reds could have bonded, do you think you would have?
No, I don't see a need. My Sisters are wonderful and I can't imagine needing anyone else.

;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
Asandra

;Who is your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
My favorite characters are Moiraine, Aviendha, and Lan. I'd have to choose Andor for favorite nation.

;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
No, I've never been to any official RL functions though I do get together with the Mitten Crew on occasion.

;What kind of music do you like?
All sorts! Pretty much anything besides rap, country, and blues.

;What are your favorite movies?
Fly Away Home, the LotR trilogy, Mulan, Rush Hour, The Rock, older Bond flicks...

;What is the craziest/stupidest thing you've ever done?
My life is rather uneventful on that side, so I don't really have a good story to share.

;What job do you have?
I work in Regulatory Affairs.

;Do you have a pet?
Yes, several!

;What languages do you speak?
English and I can get by in French and Spanish.

;What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?
Up until mid-way through university, I wanted to be a veterinarian.

Pevara.

Manetheren (I like light and brightness, what can I say?)
