Nynaeve's point of view

Nynaeve goes to visit the Mistress of Ships to see if she can learn more. On the way her boat is destroyed, sinking with her in it. Unable to break free, she finally surrenders and is able to channel, her block broken. She tries to swim to the service, but is unable to and is pulled out by Lan. He explains that Myrelle holds his bond and Nynaeve says she will force her to hand it over and insists Lan marry her. He tells her it was balefire that was responsible and Nynaeve realises it was Moghedien. She goes to the Sea Folk vessel to marry.

Elayne's point of view

Elayne and the other Aes Sedai visit Reanne, who starts to apologise profusely to Merilille, who tells her to direct her apologies to Elayne. Elayne tells her the Tower has always known of the kin and forces her to admit there are a lot of members of the Kin and that they know where there may be ter'angreal. The Aes Sedai are shocked that they number almost 1800, though Reanne at first thinks this is because they expected more. Suddenly, Mat arrives, telling them he followed a woman to a storehouse in the Rahad. Elayne asks Reanne how old she is and all the Aes Sedai are shocked when she reveals she is over 400.
