On a country road stood a maiden fair,
A shy smile on her lips, ribbons in her hair.
She faced a young man with twinkling eyes
Leaving for the archery contest to bring home the prize.

She passed him a ribbon and touched his arm,
"Here, wear my token, and stay safe from harm.
Return to me swiftly, as swift as you can."
And with that he bowed and kissed her hand.

A gallant young soldier faced his leige lady fair
Boldly bowing to her, showing not a care.
"I fear I must ride to the heart of the battle,
Would my lady offer a ribbon to grace my saddle?"

She passed him a ribbon and touched his arm,
"Here, wear my token, and stay safe from harm.
Return to me swiftly, as swift as you can."
And with that he bowed and kissed her hand.

The Queen stood regally with a fall of ribbons at her wrist,
Her King embraced her and with dear love they kissed.
"Duty calls and I must be gone from here,
I'll return before you know it, fear not my dear."

She passed him a ribbon and touched his arm,
"Here, wear my token, and stay safe from harm.
Return to me swiftly, as swift as you can."
And with that he bowed and kissed her hand.

The Aes Sedai heard the distant sounds of fighting,
She saw the flashes of Dreadlord lightning.
She called to her Gaidin and drew on the source,
He ran to her side, exuding strength and force.

She passed him a ribbon and touched his arm,
"Here, wear my token, and stay safe from harm.
Return to me swiftly, as swift as you can."
And with that he bowed and kissed her hand.
