Alene al'Vere is one of Egwene's sisters. Her parents are Bran and Marin al'Vere and her other sisters are Berowyn, Loise and Elisa (TEotW, Ravens).
She was allowed to braid her hair at the age of sixteen (TEotW, Ravens).
She is hardly ever seen without a book. When she wants to read a book and Egwene is reading it at the moment, she simply snatches it from her, saying it is too 'complex' for her (TEotW, Ravens).
Like her other sisters, she treats Egwene like a baby (TEotW, Ravens).
Egwene dreams of running in cool spring meadow with her sisters, like they did when they were younger (ACoS, Ch. 10).
