General

Aringill is a town in Andor (TDR, Ch. 32), lying on the opposite coast of the Erinin (TDR, Ch. 30) from Maerone, which it is larger than (LoC, Ch. 1), though the maps in the books show it as being outside Andor's borders, just after the Alguenya merges with it. The town is walled (LoC, Ch. 5) and the main streets are paved with flat, grey stones and the buildings of every sort, wood and brick and stone all cheek by jowl, with roofs of tile, or slate, or thatch (TDR, Ch. 40). When Mat passes through the town to deliver Elayne's letter to Morgase, it is full of refugees from Cairhien (TDR, Ch. 40. After seeing Morgase and Gaebril, Mat and Thom return to Aringill to journey to Tear. Zaida ands her Sea Folk delegation dock at Aringill when they visit Caemlyn (LoC, Ch. 5). Nobles in Aringill declare Dyelin queen after Morgase's dissapearance (LoC, Ch. 24). She had two of them hanged and twenty more flogged (ACoS, Ch. 7)
