Bel Tine 2020 was held April 19 – 26. The theme of the freeweek this year was "JM channeling gone wrong".

7 events were run during Bel Tine 2020. 8 groups entered the Group theme contest and the winner was decided by a site-wide vote. The Spamathon was the most active event and the Final Round got the all time highest record of pages - the whooping 700 pages of spam! All of the stats for the Spamathon can be found below.

Introduction post - "Welcome to Bel Tine 2020!". Please expand to read more.

The morning dawned bright and clear, with more than just a hint of warmth. Joy and excitement were palpable in the air, for spring had finally come to Tar Valon. After months of cold, biting wind and snow, made somehow colder by the gloomy shadow cast by Dragonmount, everyone was more ready for winter to be done. Even the presence of Whitecloaks in the city couldn't put a damper on the exuberant mood.

Deep within the grounds of the White Tower, preparations were well underway for the celebration of Bel Tine. The members of the Outreach Activities Team hurried every which way about the Faire Grounds (with perfect dignity, of course) as they each attended to their assigned tasks. There would be plenty of games, puzzles, food, and—naturally—spam. They couldn't wait to unveil the festivities to the rest of the Tower.

Near the centre of the Grounds, Jocasta and Ignis were hard at work arranging flowers to grace the festival. Purple Emond’s glory and crimson stargaze mingled with snowdrops, lilies, and blue-eyes. But it had been a hard winter, and the morningstars and sunbursts hadn’t quite bloomed, yet.

“Whoever heard of a Bel Tine without morningstars?” Jocasta asked indignantly as she surveyed the tightly closed buds, lying sadly amongst the riotous colours of the other flowers, and Ignis just shook his head, because it was truly unthinkable. The Novice and Accepted surveyed the Faire Grounds, wondering what they should do, but all of the Aes Sedai seemed preoccupied. They looked at each other and shrugged.

“How hard can it be to make flowers grow?” Jocasta asked.

“I’ve definitely seen the Aes Sedai use this weave before.” Ignis agreed.

Opening themselves to the Source, Ignis and Jocasta wove flows of Water and Earth with just a touch of spirit, laying them just so around the morningstars and sunbursts.

It was then that something, somehow, went terribly wrong.

With a clamorous sound that could surely be heard clear across the city, every tree, flower, and vine within two dozen spans of Ignis and Jocasta began to grow in a rush, weaving together until they had almost completely overtaken the great, open space around them.

The two Junior Members stood in stunned silence for a moment as they looked up at the giant maze of spring colours that now towered over them.

What was Ilverin Sedai going to say?
