Miridyth and Oryn's 2nd Bonding Anniversary: October 10, 2009

1) Why Oryn?

Oryn and I met on chat. He was there for me while I was battling cancer. He became my "rock" and was never too busy to answer my questions about life, after life, etc. I finally asked him to bond and he accepted :).

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

One of the things both Oryn and I discussed was that we are married to other people in real life, raising kids, etc. While our bond is important, our real life is kinda more important. We are there for each other on the boards, we are there for each other if a major incident occurs, but we are not in each others pockets. We can go months without "talking" or pming...but I know he is there for me and He knows I am there for him...all we have to do is sent out that "batman signal" and we will respond.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

I don't see any real challenges as we hashed out everything before we bonded. What we expected, what we wanted and didn't want. I honestly have never had a conflict with Oryn that I know of...other than being at opposite ends of a CE discussion ;).

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

It means I have a great male friend here on the boards that if ever I had a "real" issue that I could pm or call and he would lend an ear and vice versa....but I am the female friend  :o ...I think we "stay" bonded because we are not expecting the other person to be more than they are and do not lean on them for everything...we have spouses for that.

5) How do you like being a DM Sedai?

I love DM. I honestly would bond another DM in a heartbeat. I love their company. They treat me and the other Sedai's like we are a part of their company and I hope that we treat them the same in our Ajah. I have only rarely gotten the odd reply in a thread and that is usually from a "guest" and I have always been backed up by DM Gaidin and Younglings. Just a great group of men who honestly care about each other and the women who share their forum.

1) Why Miridyth? She's amazing!

She's strong, smart, caring, and fiercely loyal.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

Staying open minded and gracious

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

We don't always agree on everything, but we always find a way to make it work

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

It's like having a friend that you know will always be there for you and has your back no matter what.

5) How do you like being a Green warder?

I love it. The Green Ajah has some of the strongest, most interesting, and most inspiring women in the Tower.

Mai's 3rd Raising Aniversary: October 18, 2009

Lireina & Aliyenah's 4th Bonding Anniversary: October 21, 2009

1) Why Aliyenah?

It's hard to explain- we just had a great friendship chemistry, and he was always someone I could come to with anything and know that he'd give me the best advice he could, even if I didn't like it. :p (I guess having a 4000 mile buffer helps :lol) But he was, and still is, a great personal support for me, even if he forgets our Friday morning chats. :rolleyes

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

Communication- that, and a deep loyalty to our Bond, even though it had quite a rough spell there for a bit, when I wasn't sure if he was coming back. :cheese

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

Well, distance is a killer- I mean, I can drive an hour and find Lugh, but Ali lives a LOT farther than that. RL was nearly a deal-breaker, but his sense of timing was nothing short of miraculous. Since things nearly fell apart, we make a conscious effort to keep in touch, and even though it's not with the same regularity we used to, it's still wonderful to just sit and chat. :D

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

My answer is kind of like his- it's a big commitment, but at the same time, it's not. We would still be amazing friends no matter what, but being his Bondmate shows the depth of our friendship to everyone here.

5) How do you like being a DM Sedai?

How can I NOT like being a DM Sedai? I love the fact that I can be just as nutty there as I am here, and everyone's cool and laidback, and even crazier than me. :look But they were a great support system for me while Ali was gone, and never once made me feel anything other than welcome and at home. They're much like we are here, in terms of looking out for their Sedais, and I guess I liked it well enough to Bond two of them and marry a third. :p

1) Why Lireina?

She was the first one I truly connected with on this site. We can talk about anything, thru good and bad times.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

Understanding and a deep respect for eachother. We've always seem to work things out in a great way.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

I was "lost" for almost 2 years. Still we've managed to work it out. She is an amazing friend and bondmate. We never gave up :)

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

It's a true test of friendship and great way of displaying for everyone, how you can live on two different places in the world, and still be the best of friends.

5) How do you like being a Green warder?

It's great. It's like a great big family :)

Cataia's 5th Raising Anniversary: October 23, 2009

Ne'Mireth & Jaim's 4th Bonding Anniversary: October 26, 2009

1) Why Jaim?

You know how you meet a person, and you just know that there is not one bad bone in their body. That you've just met possibly the kindest, biggest hearted, funny as hell, liked by everybody all around GOOD GUY? Well, I didn't until I met Jim. Jim was... great. Like, always there for me, always ready with a good joke, a good open and honest word, or a helping hand. Even before we became good friends. And he was like the coolest person ever. Even when he was an ugly novice. All these women followed him around in hordes - I had to beat them off with a stick to bond him.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

We grew. We married (not each other, other tower people ) We both have kids. We live .5 hour away from each other. Our families do things together. We grow older and wiser together. Jim trusts me to be strong, and is smart enough to stay out of my way when I'm having one of my "green locomotive moments". And sometimes, I think, he knows through the bond, if you will, when I need to hear something - a distraction, or a "love you honey"... He is an amazing friend and the best warder in the Tower. Erm... I'm not sure why he keeps me around. I think he knows that I love him with every capable fiber of my Greenness. I think, also, we both took our oath seriously. So, this is the case of "until death" well... something really cheesy like that at any rate.

The point is, I love that man. And he is my warder. So, while other people may have gotten murdered for things, Jim has no faults. Nuff said.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

Life. It happens, it makes people busy. Things in life happen that are not easy to talk about. Sometimes especially with your bondmate. We are not the best "communicators" Jim and I. it's a good thing most times. We give each other plenty of space and plenty of love, when love is needed. Sometimes, though, I am not sure if I know how to properly be there for him.

Being married, it's also different. Your spouse is, ultimately, your best friend and your first line of support. So, sometime our bond is not like the books have ordered. But I'm proud of it.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

For me, given some rough history i've been through, it's most important to have a friend who is a guy and he's always going to stay my guy friend. I can count on that. I can count on him. For anything, so that's very important to me.

From my side - my undying loyalty and love. That's all I really have to offer. But he has that.

5) How do you like being a DM Sedai?

I am slightly addicted to DM. There is a really long LONG post I did as an answer to Pax's site contribution at some point, in the library. If you are interested.... But, to make a long stroy short - I love DM so much, I bonded and married into it. DM and Greens go really well together. They are the balance and calm to our rage and passion and it works really well together for me. I always feel at home in their halls and it's a good place to be - they are funny, kind and very supportive. And most of all - very accepting group of men. I love them all and they have my undieing loyalty and support.

1) Why Ne'Mireth?

We joined around the same time, always hung out together and stayed in touch outside the boards. We got on really well and worked well as friends.. bonding was a natural progression for us.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

We live pretty close by each other, so we see each other, have lunch or dinner.. go to each others house etc. We talk and have fun.. it's good to have someone you can talk to who isn't your wife or husband..

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

Finding time to be available to interact together.. we both have insanely busy schedules and it can be difficult to hook up at times. But when we do, we manage to resolve most difficulties we have, my Sedai will make sure we go to a pub and buy me a nice beer.. works wonders.. :lol

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

It's important to me as it's been a big part of where I am now. My Sedai and I knew each other before I met my wife. My Sedai had met my wife before I did.. when my wife and I started dating, it was nice to have the mutual friendship with my Sedai. She helped a lot especially for my wife, when I had to leave and be back in the Netherlands prior to moving out to the US.

5) How do you like being a Green warder?

Go big Green!!!

What else is there to be besides a Green Warder ? Greens are great, treat their Warders with respect and love and are truly a wonderful bunch to hang out with!

Amaria & Axis' 8th Bonding Anniversary: October 30, 2009

1) Why AXIS?

A looooonnnggg story. We met through Stonedog's forum, I guess coming up on about 9 years ago. That's also where the awesome Moradi Sedai of the Blue Ajah posted and brought over a ton of us old timers but that's another story.... Light I wish I could find copies of those old was crazy deep immersions into each others minds and all kinds of crazy stuff. I can't even describe it now...anyhow....nothing weird, we just were both at a place at the right time in our lives to mesh together through this forum. He teased me that he would bond me if he could and I teased him(threatened) him back. Well, we both signed up over here and I bonded AXIS. The rest is history....or else its been so long that I can't remember it.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

We don't *work* at it and perhaps that's why its worked for us all these years. Its having a constant friend and companion over the years, I think. We don't expect anything from each other either online or in life.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

Well the most pressing challenge is one of space and time. I'm no longer an active member of this site except for a few rare occasions. I live in the States and AXIS lives in Australia. We keep in contact through a thread that will never die Other than that...there really shouldn't be any challenges to being bonded as long as you both are clear what it is you are bonding for and why.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

Hum...what does it mean.... If I lost my bond to Axis it would mean the end of an era for me, I think. We've been bonded so long that Amaria would not mean the same thing. He is my sword arm and my longest confidante and I just now realized he is my longest standing "internet friend"...and I can't believe I lucked out.

1) Why Amaria?

Mari and I had an instant connection on a previous Wheel of Time board Stonedogs, which at the time was the place to be for online WoT fans. At that time she was known as Silverkttn and we met in the “flamerooms” in which newbies were subjected to imagined tortures by the senior members. We managed to become a good flame team and roasted our fair share of the newbs in quite imaginative ways.

Around that time was coming into being, (although of course it was a long time before it would be called that) and she managed to convince me to come across, in many ways really I joined Amaria not TV at the time.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years? And 3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

When it comes right down to it, what has kept our bond working has been our little contact thread. We are never online together to chat, our real lives and timezones have seen to that. But that thread has always been the place where we know that any messages left will get read. It keeps us in contact and updated on each others lives. I’m sure the bond would have “worked” without it, but that’s what has kept it meaningful. Especially as we have been bonded for 8 years now, and both of us are living vastly different lives, and indeed are vastly different people than when we first met. And that thread has allowed us to grow together, and not apart. In many ways I think it worked better for that that chat ever would have.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

I’ve always said that this was a bond for life, and I meant it. Who knows what will happen in the future. Maybe one or both of us will leave TV forever one day. But Amaria has been a big part of my life during the period in which I went from a boy to a man and has been a positive influence on me in that period. And I’ll be forever grateful to her for her friendship, and she’ll always have a thread tied to me with that bond.

5) How do you like being a Green Gaidin?

I’ve always said that the bonds between DM Gaidin and Green Aes Sedai are the best on the site, and I think that’s as true today as it ever was.

Melana's 2nd Raising Anniversary: November 2, 2009

Cataia & Jarin's 5th Bonding Anniversary: November 11, 2009

1) Why Jarin?

Jarin and I met at the Las Vegas Fall Ball. It was almost complete trust at first sight. It was one of the most amazing weekends of my life.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

We fell in and out of love with each other, but we always knew that we would stay bonded. Communication is key, and I fail miserably at that, so I guess its just the fact that I know he is there.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

We were an item for two years while bonded. When that ended, and we started to see other people, it was hard. But we knew we were staying bonded, so there was no animosity.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

Strangely, it means a lot. A lot a lot. I can't even express it.

5) How do you like being a Val'Cueran Aes Sedai?

It is amazing. I love my Warder.

1) Why Cataia?

We met just after I'd left bootcamp, and spent a great weekend together at the Las Vegas Fall Ball. She was a great support during my training, and I had no doubts that she was the person I wanted to bond.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

Even though we've had our difficulties, we've always known that our relationship was worth spending time on.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

Communication is very important, and it's hard when we've been unable to talk for a while. I think the best thing we've done is acknowledge that yes it is difficult, and yes it is a challenge. Simply knowing that there is an obstacle rather than attempting to act as if it isn't there helps quite a bit.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

It means having a wonderful friend available whenever you need her. Even when I'm doing something that has nothing to do with her, I know that if I need to talk to somebody, there's someone who will listen.

5) How do you like being a Green Warder?

They are a group of amazing ladies, and I always feel like I'm among family. (Hi Sis!)

Aryawnah & Ecarion's 4th Bonding Anniversary: November 20, 2009

Maryan's 7th Raising Anniversary: November 25, 2009

Gracienda's 3rd Raising Anniversary: December 8, 2009

Oskana's 8th Raising Anniversary: December 10, 2009

Wen and Moah's 2nd Bonding Anniversary: December 11, 2009

1) Why Moah?

Moah is the only person I've ever had as significant a connection with as I have with Cedric (although my connection with Moah is strictly platonic). We understand each other, even when we don't understand each other (he'll get that even if no one else does:P ). I can say anything to him, including indulging in my sometimes-less-than-tasteful sense of humour. On a selfish note, chatting with him always cheers me up and he makes me laugh out loud at least once every time we communicate.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

Well, it's "only" been two years, but I think there's an element of faith there. We usually communicate daily or every other day, but sometimes much longer periods will pass with no contact and neither of us gets bent out of shape about that. Conversely, if one of us really needs the other one, everything else in life is pretty much dropped until the situation's been dealt with. I don't want to get all mushy, but he knows I'm always here for him and I know he's always there for me. And all of it's unconditional. And, really, how many times do you find that in life?

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

We sometimes miscommunicate or we sometimes don't get one another's jokes. We just talk it out, because we realise that language can sometimes be confusing (English is his second language and my English is "contaminated" by Dutch), and it's not a common occurrence anyway. The distance is a bother. He's been to my house three times, but I've never been to his. That gets on my nerves I think more than it does his, but he understands that me coming there means travelling with four people, not one, and he's been a prince about it.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

Lots of things. For one thing, our similar upbringing gives us a perspective on each other's lives that we might otherwise lack. We have had certain parallel life experiences that make it possible for us to share insights into our problems when they arise. Most importantly, Moah fits in seamlessly with my family. Out of all the people who have ever visited my house for more than a day or two, Moah is the only one Cedric repeatedly wishes would return, for example. It's not like having a guest in the house, and our kids (particularly Alex) are nuts about him. These are things I haven't found every day in my life. I guess what it all boils down to is that having and keeping my Bond adds a layer of security to my life that I didn't realise was missing until I had found it.

5) How do you like being a Dai'Mhael Aes Sedai?

The DM Gaidin are really wonderful to us, and they treat us with welcome and warmth in their Great Room and really go out of their way to make us feel part of the Company. For that reason, were I Gaidin, I have little doubt that I would have "gone DM". This said, I'm bonded to Moah, not to his Company, and if he were to demote and go elsewhere, I'd be right there with him.

1) Why Wen?

Well, it's hard to say, and at the same time it's quite easy: Although i've had other opportunities, and although I've had interests in other Aes Sedai before Wen, she was the only one who clicked when we met irl. It was as if we'd known each other for a very long time, i felt comfortable, and so did she (at least, I like to think so). Although I took time to think about it, I knew the answer at the time she asked me.

2) What keeps your bond working through the years?

A strange mix of sarcasm and caring.

3) What challenges do you face as a bonded couple and how do you overcome them?

I don't really think there are any challenges. The only time we had doubts was when we had differing viewpoints concerning faith and religion, and more specifically their interaction with science. We overcame it though talking through it and agreeing to disagree.

4) What does it mean to you to be (and stay) bonded?

Mostly that i have a best friend for life! Or like she and her family are part of mine.

5) How do you like being a Green Gaidin?

Heh. I can't really give an informed opinion here, since i never get on the site, i mostly stay in chat. I had aready forsaken most of the forums by the time we'd bonded, so I can't really say i'm a "green" warder. In my head i'm just a Wen warder :p.
