Drowned Lands

Unless stated otherwise, all information herein is taken from The World of Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time", Chapter 15.

The Drowned Lands are a large saltwater swamp north of Mayene, with thick foliage with very few areas of dry land or open waterways. As such, passage through them is near impossible

Animals of the Drowned Lands

There are many dangerous animals, including varieties of venomous snake and water lizards, which may grow twenty feet in length. There are also many mammalian species. All animals in the drowned lands are excellent swimmers.

Nedar

A tusked water pig that can grow to three hundred pounds

Soetam

The ten stone great rat.

The Swamp Cat

A large mottled green cat, averaging one and a half hundredweight.

Spikehorn

A knee high deer.

Forkhorn

A waist high deer.
