The Field of Merrilon is an area on the southern border with [[Shienar]] ((ref)) where [[Rand]] arranges to meet with [[Egwene]] before he breaks the [[Seals]] (({{ToM|2}}, knowing she will bring the monarchs of the world ({{ToM|52}}). It is located on a grassland that used to be Merrilor and has the ruins of fortresses across the northern side ({{ToM|56}}.  When the armies gather, they form into two main camps, Rand and the Borderlands in one, and everyone else in the other. Perrin sets his army apart, and a second, small group of independent peasant soldiers also do not join either camp.
