The Guilds are a means of providing a sense of community that transcends rank. They are primarily based around the idea of a professional networking group such as you would find in The Wheel of Time world. They are not meant to take the place of Ajahs and Companies, nor are they equal to them. Many people never join a Guild, and it is not a necessary part of our community's experience. Guilds are simply meant to provide a place for people with similar interests to come together and discuss various aspects of those interests.
