Jara Doweel runs an isolated farm in the Black Hills. She is a harsh taskmistress (TPoD, Ch26; WH, Prologue).

She enjoys poverty (WH, Prologue).

Toveine Gazal had to spend her twenty years in exile working on Mistress Doweel's farm (TPoD, Ch26).

After her exile was over, Toveine showed Mistress Doweel what it means to try pushing her down (WH, Prologue).
