Nynaeve and Lan are inside. She wants to go outside, but he won't let her. She can see Donalo Sandomere and Arel Malevin, with Aisling Noon and Ayako Norsoni burning trolloc bodies. Lan is angry that Rand is focused on the Seanchan and not the Borderlands so Nynaeve decides to take him back there, first making him promise that he will ride to Fal Moran before entering the Blight and take anyone who wants to ride with him. She opens a gateway and they go through, to World's End in Saldaea, where she leaves him.

He tells her that Malkier is dead, but she replies that so long as one woman wears the ki'sain in pledge that she will send her sons to fight the Shadow and that one man wears the hadori in pledge that he will fight the Shadow, Malkier lives. He calls this madness, but it convinces him and he agrees to ride. He turns to Managan and Gorenellin and asks them if they remember their blood.
