Timeline

Season 1

Loial meets Rand for the first time in Tar Valon and mistakes him for an Aiel, because of the shade of red of his hair. He says that when he first entered the city, a mob of citizens ran after him, because they had confused him for a Trollocs, just like Rand did. However, he considers going outside to the procession when the Aes Sedai parade the false Dragon, Logain.

Loial later goes to the White Tower grounds where he finds Nynaeve and brings her to Rand and Mat's room in the inn. He had recognized that Nynaeve is from the Two Rivers by her braid.

During the next day, Loial joins Nynaeve to the market to gather some herbs. He meets Moiraine there. She later calls for him to come into her chambers in the White Tower. He agrees to help her and comes to the Waygate outside Tar Valon. He explains to the Two Rivers folk that The Ways have been created outside of time and space, so that people can travel from one point of the continent to the other in just a day or two. (Ep. 6)

Inside of the Ways, Loial explains that reopening the Waygate is not advisable, since channeling inside of the Ways will call Machin Shin. Loial is sad at the current state of the Ways, he says that once they were covered in grass and grew fruit trees. After reaching a Guiding Stone and sees marks on it, Loial is confused by what might have caused it. He says that no Ogier would deface a Guiding. But he can still read it even in this state.

After a Trolloc attacks the group, Loial claims that it should be impossible for a Trolloc to be inside the Ways. The Ogier says that the Waygate at Fal Dara is closer, so he takes them to it. The group safely escapes through the Waygate at Fal Dara, Loial exaplains that the fortress city of Fal Dara is the "last bastion against the Blight". (Ep. 7)

Quotes

"An Aielman from the Two Rivers who insists he is ‘’not’’ an Aielman. That is very odd. I like oddities."

"Always in such a rush, these humans. Never taking time to properly prepare for what they're walking into"
