The Lucky Man Theater Troop is one of the groups of "players" that has recently arisen, who give performances of classic ballads and stories. Thom does not think much of such troops pretending to be people in the legends as he claims he can make people believe they are the legendary hero (TGH, Ch. 26). However, such troups have increased in popularity and the Lucky Man Troop had gained enough of a reputation to be asked to perform for Elayne and other Andoran nobles at the Royal Palace, where they perform "The Death of Princess Walishen," adding extra words and scenes so that it can be performed by a company instead of just a single bard, something Elayne feels is unnecessary.
