This month we’re interviewing an older member of the mafia forum, one who has not played in some time but is well remembered. Lauraine al’Thone, Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah, has a long history of activity in the Tower, having served in a variety of capacities within her Ajah and winning a bevy of awards for it. She has also been a part of the Tar Valon Times, the Outreach Team, and won the award for best avatar in 2012.

Interview Questions

Have you modded any games at Tar Valon? If so, what ones?

Yes! I've modded the Harry Potter Mafia & the Hunger Games Mafia. They were both tons of fun!

What is your favourite game that you have played here?

I think my favourite mafia games were ones that I've modded, not played. I get obsessive when I play and become frustrated with the game... It sucks up all my energy & time! I love modding because I get to know everything and watch everyone else freak out. If I had to pick a favourite game to play, I'd say the Firefly game, which was one of my first games, was a definite favourite!

Do you prefer to be town or mafia?

Mafia! Obviously :evil

What is your favourite role?

My favourite role is usually the Vigilante role or the Jack of All Trade type roles. They are particularly exciting because you have the power to really blow the game up if you use them at the right time on the right player! And if not ... you can still blow the game up in an interesting way!

Who is your favourite person to lynch and why?

Kaldam, cause duhh! .... Also Eli because his play style drives me crazy most of the time. He notoriously guns after me.

Mafia tidbits of the month:

Poisoner – Typically mafia aligned, this role poisons a player one night and the target dies the following night, allowing the poisoner to avoid trackers and watchers. Doctors can either not protect the poisoned target at all or can protect them on the night they die. A poisoner can be paired with an antidote doctor who can only defend from the poisoner.
