Norla was a wilder in the Black Hills. She was old and almost toothless (WH, Ch. 34; CoT, Ch. 23).

When Cadsuane Melaidhrin was about twenty-five, she began earning her hair ornaments from Norla. She also learned the lesson that what has to be endured can be endured (WH, Ch. 34).

Cadsuane think it might have altered a great deal of history had she not gone to Norla (CoT, Ch. 23).
