Nynaeve al'Meara is one of the main characters in the book and television series The Wheel of Time. In the TV show, Nynaeve is played by the New Zealand born actress Zoë Robins.

Appearance

Nynaeve is a young woman from the village Emond's Field. She has long dark brown hair, which she usually wears in a long braid.

Personality

Nynaeve is a stubborn person who cares about the people of Emond's Field and feels responsible for them.

Nynaeve's Journey

Nynaeve first appears in first episode Leavetaking. She is a Wisdom of Emond's Field. Her first appearance is during a ceremony that she leads Egwene through. During the evening celebration for Egwene, Nynaeve meets Moiraine and Lan. The next day Moiraine confronts Nynaeve and asks about her birth and how she ended up being raised in Emond's Field. She questions how Nynaeve has managed to become a Wisdom at such a young age. Nynaeve defends her ability to take care of her people.

Later, Nynaeve teaches Egwene how to listen to the wind, but cannot explain to Egwene the meaning of what they hear.

That night, during the Bel Tine celebration the village is attacked by Trollocs. Nynaeve is dragged off during the attack and everyone believes her dead.

Nynaeve next appears at the end of second episode Shadow's Waiting when she surprises Lan by catching him off guard and demands to be taken to the others.
