Fain arrives in Emond's Field with his wagon full of trinkets, household items, and other things. Children are happy to see him, but there aren't generally many customers. Mat tries to sell Fain a bracelet, which he believes is very valuable. Fain, however rips off Mat with the money, since he could tell the bracelet is stolen.
