Personality

Perrin's Journey

Season 1

Perrin is sitting at the Winespring Inn with his friends Mat and Rand. Mat is suggesting gambling, but Perrin refuses to participate. After Mat leaves, he notes to Rand that Mat probably lost a lot of money. At that time Egwene comes back from her initiation ceremony into the Women's Circle, to which Perrin smiles and claps with the rest of the inn's visitors.

During that evening Perrin asks Rand how Egwene's ceremony went, when Moiraine and Lan come into the inn and introduce themselves, after which they go into their rooms. Perrin remarks that the Aes Sedai "looks like a normal person." Nynaeve nears them and asks where Laila, Perrin's wife, is. To which she answers her own question – "Probably at the forge." Perrin leaves to find his wife. When he finds her in the forge, he asks her why she did not go to Egwene's ceremony. He tells her that he loves her, and she replies with "I know."

The next day, Perrin sits down with his friends and tells Mat that Rand and himself have pitched in some money for Mat to buy lanterns for Bel Tine. Perrin is surprised when Mat remarks that there must be a problem between Rand and Egwene. In the evening, along with the rest of the villagers, Perrin and Laila light lanterns and let them float in the river.

While the celebration is ongoing at the village Green, Perrin is dancing with Laila. Then, suddenly Trollocs attack the villagers. Perrin and Laila hide in the forge and help several other people hide with them. A Trolloc manages to enter the forge and while Laila is helping the rest of the villagers to go outside, Perrin is fighting the Trolloc with an axe. After defeating several of the monsters, it seems that Perrin gets into a fighting rage and accidentally hits his wife with the axe, resulting in her death.

In the morning, Perrin takes Laila's corpse out with the others, but has no time to mourn her. Moiraine tells him that he is one of the people the Dark One is looking for and they must leave immediately. Perrin follows the Aes Sedai and, along with Mat, Rand, and Egwene, they leave the Two Rivers.
