General

Shaoman 2017 was held October 27 - November 1.

5 events were held that year and many people joined the festivities. 6 membership groups submitted their themes for the Group theme contest and the winner was chosen by a site-wide vote. People could also vote for most entertaining membership group thread and they chose the Brown Ajah's thread. A crazy round of Spamathon ended up having the record number of 331 pages of spam! More Spamathon stats can be found below.

Introduction post - "Welcome to Shaoman! Attack of the Witchcloaks". Please expand to read more.

Questioner Trelane gazed out the flap of his tent at the towering spires of Tar Valon and the White Tower. "Witches..." he muttered, bitterness infusing every word. He hated the Tar Valon witches, more than anything. They used their witchcraft powers to infect the world with the Dark Ones own touch. Slamming his hands on the solid wood of his writing desk, he fumed, the flickering candlelight reflecting within his eyes and giving them a sinister glow. It wasn't right they had such powers, those powers belonged to the Creator and should be His to give to his loyal subjects----

The madness left his eyes for a brief moment as his thoughts dawned bright. Yes, that was the way he would defeat the witches. It was brilliant, he needed only to find a way how, though he was sure the Creator would help him find a way.

If he could not beat the witches with brute force alone, he would beat them at their own game.

A faction of the Whitecloaks, the Questioners, have broken off and under the leadership of Questioner Trelane, have spent years researching and practicing how to fight Power with Power. Now, they have mobilized and using a combination of their own channelers and Questioners wielding ter'angreals, have begun to move on the White Tower, shrouding it in darkness with a mystical, ter'angreal created veil that no Aes Sedai has been able to lift. These 'Witchcloaks' have also created or somehow released shadowy being which hunt down those who cannot channel. The Amrylin has called upon every resident of Tar Valon to band together in the face of this threat. Can the Witchcloaks be defeated in time to save Shaoman and Tar Valon?

Welcome to Shaoman! This is one of the Freeweeks we have at TarValon.net, where we open up the Faregrounds for fun and games! Gather with your usergroups and pick a theme to dress up, make a thread and play games, and all around have a great time! But watch out for the Witchcloaks and their shadow army!

In this forum, JMs need not use titles to address SMs, but remember to respect one another. If you have any questions or concerns, please email outreachactivities@tarvalon.net.

Welcome friends and enjoy!
