Tamore Alkohima

General
Tamore Alkohima, originally from Arad Doman, is the owner of a prestigious dress shop in Tar Valon (NS, Ch. 13).
Despite her Domani descent, Tamore is relatively fair-skinned. She has a full figure, and Moiraine thinks to herself that Tamore would have made Gitara Moroso (also full-figured) seem almost boyish in comparison. Instead of simply walking, she seems to flow around the room. She has a full lower lip and a languorous smile (NS, Ch. 13).
Tamore is a talented dressmaker and is highly recommended even by Aes Sedai (NS, Ch. 13).
Timeline
- Moiraine and Siuan go to Tamore's shop to purchase dresses. Tamore looks angry when Siuan acts rude, and even more so when she is made to wait while Moiraine drags Siuan away for a little talk on how to treat a dressmaker (NS, Ch. 13).
- Tamore delivers the first of the dresses to Moiraine and Siuan on the first day of the Feast of Lights (NS, Ch. 14).
- On her way out of Tar Valon, Moiraine stops at Tamore's shop to pick up the rest of her dresses. There, Moiraine changes into a dress that marks her as a minor Cairhienin noble. Tamore does not ask any questions (NS, Ch. 14).
Miscellaneous
- Tamore's shop occupies the ground floor of a building that seems to be all curves. The walls are lined with shelves that are stacked full of bolts of silk and wool in every color (NS, Ch. 13).
- She has a half-dozen assistants (NS, Ch. 13).

"A Cairhienin cut, of course," Tamore said, thumbing her full lower lip thoughtfully. "That will suit you very well. But that hue is lovely against your pale skin. Half your dresses must be of light color, and half embroidered. You require elegance, not plainness." (Tamore to Moiraine; NS, Ch. 13).
"Tamore was only arching one eyebrow, yet her face might as well have been like a thunderhead. The meaning of that eyebrow was clear as the finest crystal. They had already made the seamstress wait too long, and there would be a price for it." (Moiraine thinks of Tamore; NS, Ch. 13).
"Surprisingly, their first dresses were delivered early on the first day of the feast. Either Tamore was eager for her gratuity, or more likely, she thought they would want the garments for feastday festivities. She came with two of her assistants to see whether any adjustments were necessary, but none were. Tamore was excellent at what she did." (Moiraine thinks of Tamore; NS, Ch. 14).
