They learn Gareth Bryne has been meeting with [[Talmanes]] which makes [[Lelaine]] and [[Romanda]] furious, but he shrugs off their anger. When they arrive at the meeting point, they discover that Talmanes is already there. Egwene asks why the nobles are there and is told that they fear to let them pass for fear of what the real Tower might think. Others say they worry about a battle between [[Aes Sedai]], or between [[The Black Tower|the Black]] and [[White Tower]]s. Egwene tells them they intend to remain for a month, then leave without passing into Andor or moving through Murandy. They are uncertain. She finally tells them that the novice book is to be opened to anyone at all who wishes to be Aes Sedai, whatever their age.
