When they finally approach the Kin's farm Elayne summons Reanne, thinking it better to let them see a familiar face first. She'll be glad when this is taken care of so she can see to some long overdue duties in [[Caemlyn]], where she intends to head next.

Chapter Icon: Wheel and Serpent

Point of View: Elayne

Setting: The countryside north of Ebou Dar, the Kin's farm

Characters: Aviendha, Elayne, Adeleas, Ispan, Nynaeve, Reanne

Outline

Elayne and Nynaeve's party arrive at the Kin's farm.

Summary

Aviendha discovers that Elayne did not receive her message. The way that Aviendha redresses the Sea Folk woman who was supposed to carry the message to Elayne doesn't sit well with the Sea Folk. Adeleas suggests that the Sea Folk's peculiar ideas on Aiel could be used to keep them in check.

The Kin are still trying to get Elayne to release Ispan to the Aes Sedai with the excuse that she needs to be interrogated. After the Kin have taken their turn at trying to influence Elayne, they are replaced by the Aes Sedai. All of their priorities seem to be distractions from the task before them; an increasingly annoyed Elayne sends them away from her. Nynaeve is still fussing over Lan, which reminds Elayne of Rand and makes the ride even more miserable for her.

When they finally approach the Kin's farm, Elayne summons Reanne to the front so that the farm residents can see a familiar face first. Elayne will be glad when this is done so she can see to some long overdue duties in Caemlyn.
