Summary

Perrin's Point of View:

Setting: Abila, Amadicia; somewhere in Ghealdan; close to Tar Valon

Characters: Perrin, Masema, Sebban Balwer, Elyas, Hari, Berelain, Maighdin/Morgase

Perrin is entering the town of Abila in Amadicia, the current location of the Prophet. He takes in a small group, Masema would be threatened if he brought his army. Perrin lets his mind wander a bit. He took some, well most, of Elyas' advice on Saldaean women and there seems to be a remarkable change in Faile. She even smelled pleased when he told her firmly she wasn't going with him today. As soon as they enter the town, which seems largely populated by armed men fallen on bad times, Sebban Balwer goes his own way to find information. He's remarkably good at that.

It doesn't take long to find the Prophet. Perrin's claim to know him stirs things a bit though. Soon Perrin and his followers are lead before Masema. Perrin sees the madness in Masema's eyes. Masema recognizes Perrin as well. He has gotten a report from Hari, the man Perrin sent to him. Masema isn't pleased with what he heard. He's even less pleased when he sees Aes Sedai in Perrin's company. Perrin is not about to back down after seeing the Prophet's work though. He makes it clear the Lord Dragon summoned Masema. He can be in Cairhien before nightfall. Masema refuses to travel using the Power, that is something only the Dragon Reborn, the Light made flesh, is supposed to do. Perrin has to settle for riding to Cairhien.

Faile's Point of View:

Setting: Somewhere in Ghealdan

Characters: Alliandre, Maighdin/Morgase, Parelean, Arrela, Faile, Lacile, Chiad, Bain, Rolan, Efalin

Faile, Berelain and Alliandre are out hunting while Perrin is speaking to the Prophet. They only brought a small guard with them. She is in a good mood after what she sees as her victory over Berelain. Perrin finally started behaving like the man she wants him to be. Of course, Berelain thinks she can still win their little game but Faile knows better. Maighdin is turning into a good servant which adds to Faile's good mood. She will need to get her and Tallanvor married soon though.

Parelean, Arrela and Lacile, members of the Cha Faile, approach the group; they have reliable reports of the Seanchan talking to the Prophet. This is something Perrin must know. She decides to ride into Abila. Before they even get the chance to leave though their group is attacked by Aiel. Faile sees there is no winning this battle and orders everybody to make a run for it. Then urges Swallow for speed. Before she can break free though the horse breaks a leg and Faile is thrown off.

A huge Aiel man comes to collect her. He disarms her with ease, removes her clothes and brings her to the others. Naked and shivering in the snow, Faile watches as the prisoners are brought in. Maighdin is there, Chiad and Bain, Alliandre too. She saw Parelean dead in the snow. Of all people, Berelain escaped though. Overhearing a conversation between Rolan, the Aiel that captured her and Efalin she finds out this is a group of Shaido Aiel. They're gathering more gai'shain for Sevanna, even though making people gai'shain who don't follow ji'e'toh is a violation of Aiel custom. Perrin has to know about this, she has to escape somehow.

Egwene's Point of View:

Setting: Close to Tar Valon

Characters: Egwene, Siuan, Sheriam, Gareth Bryne

Egwene rides along the column of supply wagons and Accepted and novices afoot with Siuan and Sheriam at her back. Opening the novice book for all ages has brought a surprising number of women to them. Everything seems ready for the move. Gareth Bryne has his men ready as well. Egwene gives the order to proceed and a circle of thirteen creates a gateway to a location not far from Tar Valon. It has begun. Light send it would end with the fall of Elaida.
