Summary

Egwene's Point of View:

Setting: Tel'aran'rhiod

Characters: Amys, Bair, Egwene, Leane, Melaine, Nynaeve, Renaile, Seaine, Siuan, Shielyn, Yukiri

Egwene speaks to Nynaeve and asks her to lead the fight against Mesaana if she arrives. She goes to the Musician's Way to meet with Wise Ones and Windfinders. Amys complains that Egwene has brought children into the dream, but Egwene insists that the Sea folk have been told the dangers. Shielyn tells her that they have already guessed the purpose of the meeting and says that Aes Sedai cannot stand the thought of others chanelling. Egwene replies that the Sea Folk may have been wise to hide their abilities and that the White Tower could learn from them. Shielyn replies that they might be able to make a bargain to train women of the White Tower. Egwene tells the Wise Ones that she found their training useful and that the three groups need to form an alliance. The Wise Ones are suspicious of the plan, but Egwene points out how much of an advantage it would be to have Aes Sedai who trained under Wise Ones.

They decide that each group will send two apprentices at a time to each of the other groups for a period of six months to two years, and that the Aiel and Sea Folk will be allowed to keep their ter'angreal.Yukiri tells her that she doesn't think the Hall will agree and that many think all objects of the Power should belong to the Aes Sedai, but Egwene asks her what they think they will do if one of the other groups, or the Asha'man start producing their own. Leane realises Egwene is right. Siuan appears to tell them the battle has begun.

Perrin's Point of View:

Setting: Tel'aran'rhiod

Characters: Hopper, Slayer, Perrin

Perrin is running from Slayer, trying to work out how to dispose of the Dreamspike. He sees Dragonmount and Tar Valon and decides that the city might provide enough cover for him to be able to kill Slayer.
