Caembarin was one of the nations of the Free Era. It was located in the central part of the Westlands. To the north were Roemalle and Tar Valon, with Dal Calain to the northwest, Aldeshar to the west, Nerevan and Esandara to the south, and Shandalle to the east. Eventually, this area of land became what is now part of Andor and the Caralain Grass.

Caembarin was one of the most powerful nations of the Free Era.

In the summer of FY 943, after Artur Hawkwing had captured Guaire Amalasan, Queen Nesaline of Caembarin sent armies into Shandalle. By the time winter came about, Artur Hawkwing held considerable parts of Caembarin.

In spring of FY 944, Aldeshar sent men to aid Caembarin, but to no avail.
